Will it be playable offline at some point? (Also hi!)

Firstly, hey! I've arrived in the wave of Premium Beta players and pretty new around the forums! Though that said I've been drinking up video content of ED for a while now and for some reason the inner 7 year old in me can't stop flipping out about it (something about spaceships).

Anyway, after not being able to connect to the multiplayer (don't worry not asking about that here, been looking in the support forum for that) and accepting that this might have more to do with my weird/shoddy Australian internet I've become paranoid that this won't have offline play? I know I read it in a few places but just wanted to make certain. Don't care if it's only coming on full release, would just like to be assured that it'll be in there eventually. Thanks!

There's supposed to be offline play at some point, but it will supposedly be a stripped-down version of the galaxy, without the dynamics and curated events.

Yeah, that's what I'd figured. It wouldn't be possible to stream in the changing economies and such without a connection.

Yep it has two flavours of off-line play, totally offline as in never see another human player in a static (apart from AI influenced) universe, OR off-line flavour two still being solo with just AI ships but your universe is influenced by the online community - so market buying and selling prices will fluctuate, wars may break out, etc, etc. Also in flavour two you can invite or join people on your friends lists so small groups only...

Then you get online all mode, so playing with everyone, and then Ironman mode - again totally online but only with other Ironmen and once you die you drop down to the online all mode.

*edit* no offline mode in Alpha unless you count the Alpha 1 solo missions and not seen anything about it being available in Beta. I strongly doubt we will see it until full release / Gamma.

Those are actually two flavours of SINGLE PLAYER not two offline modes :). Picky I know. You can be single player online or offline; offline does not allow the galaxy to change
