Will it be single player, or MMO?

I see a lot of references to multiplayer... this worries me. I am a truck driver, continental 48 and Canada. As you can guess this means a lot of time without good internet, some places where the internet is insanely expensive (Canada), and poor connection speeds.

Thus I never ever play multiplayer only games.

However since I played Elite on the Commodore 64 I have wanted to see it revived and reborn... I WANT TO PLAY ELITE! But if it is limited to multi-player only I shall not (I shall cry for a month).

Please please please please please tell me there is a single player only option!!! If so I will buy as soon as I find out!!!! Money is easy, so if this is possible instant buy from me!!!

Welcome to the forum.

To answer your question.

Yes. :D

At the moment it's online SP but when the game goes live you will have a SP offline option.

There are a lot of benefits to Single player games.

Gameplay consistency being no.1 - I believe SP will be the most immersive, you won't be spending half the time talking to someone you know is on Earth.

I'll definitely be someone who spends time in both,

Glad you'll be able to do some 21st Century Elite'ing on your travels :)

The OP's post kind of begs the question, "How many boys in 1984 grew up to be long distance truck drivers because of Elite?"

I bought it for the release since it would be online until then.

As for the last question... you have to ask yourself "how many Truck Driving, Math Science, Running for Office, 1984 players of Elite are there?" and I can answer just one, just one.
