Will pledging to a power make you wanted in other territories?

The reason I ask is Iv been bounty hunting around Cubeo all day today and Iv noticed a few ships from Zac Hudson and Sirius security, all have been wanted. I killed one and my fed rep dropped slightly so I wouldn't fire on the others. If I pledge to a power will I be wanted in other power's territory? Also, am I now wanted in Zac controlled areas for blowing up one of his ships? I'm friendly with fed and imp.

Pledging will make you "Hostile" in opposing power's space. While hostile, enemy power play ships (Utopian Overseers, Federal Agents, etc) can and will attack you with impunity. Similarly, you will be able to engage enemy power play ships in your faction controlled space with impunity.

Be warned: pledging to PP, in its current state, results in a game crushing number of interdictions, etc. It's extremely annoying. The decision to add PP ships to RES sites in large quantities has also effectively ruined RES hunting for pledged players.

I used to stay pledge simply so I could be identified as an Imperial in-game, but simply put I didn't find it to be worth the enormous headache. PP is in a pitiful state at the moment.

Thanks for the reply. Your post put the nail in the coffin of any pledging ideas. I have two goals, a sol permit and an Imperial courier. So far though Iv only managed to get one fed navy mission and zero imperial missions. Hopefully I'm not a wanted man at sol now lol.

If you log out, your reputation reduce over time. If you than don't do missions for the federation or empire it goes down to 75% cordial.
Shooting their ships because of powerplay pledging just speeds up things. But i don't think you can fall below this 75% cordial through shooting federal agents. I do this the complete day long and stay at this level.

Once you are pledged to a power, all other powers agents will hunt you everywhere. So be careful where you are. I tryed for example some bountyhunting for an engineer in alliance space (i am pledged to aisling) and these annoying alliance guys were interfering me nonstop. Problem here is, i wasn't allowed to shoot back because otherwise i would be the wanted since it's their space^^

Can be annoying sometimes but i have a small hint for you, only controlsystems and exploited systems are infected with agents. If you wanna bountyhunt in imperial space without get annoyed by these agents, look for systems in these bubbles that are not affected by powerplay ;)

There is also remaining a bug:
If you shoot an alliance enforcer in a federal controlsystem while being pledged to imperial superpower, it counts as undermining and you will get merrits for doing so.
Also when you are pledged to Aisling, and shoot a federal agent in a controlsystem from Lavigny, it counts also as undermining her system.

The behavior that you get attacked from other agents of the superpower is already fixed. (You got attacked by zemina guys when pledged to aisling for example)

Pledge to a Power, and you're Open Season to anyone pledged to another power. They can kill you with impunity (no crime, no bounty).

hehe I realised this when I pledged with Yong-Rui, almost the whole bubble became "hostile". Even Sirius, go figure lol. Strange that the whole bubble should be hostile to a pacifist faction that welcomes in people of all factions to buy cheap ships. But no-one said Powerplay actually made sense :p

Being friendly with Feds does not make you hostile with Imps, neither does friendly with Imps make you Hostile with feds. You can become an Admiral in the Fed (reserve) navy and a King in the (honourary) imperial navy. Note that this doesn't actually give you any authority or anything material, they're just a honorary title that also unlocks a few systems and ships for purchase. You can't pledge allegiance to the superpowers like the Feds/Alliance/Imperials.

You can pledge to smaller regional powers (Power Play) like Zac Hudson or JYR or what's her name with the blue hair. They allow you to buy unique equipment, give some minor bonus, and offer a weekly salary as long as you're pledged to them. This also makes you hostile to people (player or NPC) pledged to other regional powers.

Then you have local powers, which are just randomly generated minor factions that may be affiliated with a superpower, they share control over systems and individual stations, they're things like 9 Aquila B3-7 Blue Jet Gang or People's LHS 38881-A1 Republic . You can become allied or hostile with these but you can't pledge allegiance to them. Higher reputation with these and the better pay you get from doing their missions. Some are affiliated with superpowers which means that doing missions for those local powers will increase your rank with the super power. This in turn means that if you have a high reputation with the super power, local factions they're affiliated will share a fraction of that reputation. Say 100% with Feds and you'll be 60-70 cordial or friendly with a local Fed faction you've never met. Very minor benefit but still nice. Beyond that, local factions are the ones who offer rank up missions which increase your rank with the super power (it doesn't make sense but that's how it is), not the Superpower itself which as far as the game is concerned does not exist as a distinct entity. Local powers also sometimes have permits to locked systems, which they'll only give out if you're allied with them.

Power play (regional powers) do not interact in any way with local or super powers, they're essentially a separate minigame.

Beyond this, the only way to completely lock yourself out from a station is to become hostile with the local power which controls it (and that would make it hard to get any permits they give). Sol and Achenar are permission locked by your superpower rank, regional powers do not influence this in any way.

There's loads of downsides and rather little upside to PP at the moment, and it has some/many consequences for 'normal' gameplay.
Not worth the hassle to many
