Will single player updates be possible?

Hi,

Will it be possible to update the offline version? I can see how other player interaction with the universe will not be added but perhaps general events in the universe could be updated? Or will the offline universe be limited to the first time you run the offline game?

I believe the game's universe will be updated even if you only play offline mode, yes.

From the Design Discussion Archive:

"Injected Events can only be added to online players games. Offline players will still have changes applied by the background simulation, but will not get the broad influences of Injected Events."

Note: the background simulation does not depend on Online Multiplayer, so I'm assuming this is referring to client-side generated changes rather than updates from the multiplayer galaxy. If you want updates from multiplayer, you could simply choose to play Online Singleplayer. The Offline Singleplayer mode has been added specifically to avoid depending on an internet connection, which .. would be necessary to transmit updates from the multiplayer galaxy.
