Will someone please fix the damned NPC flight paths?

Okay so this is frustrating me to no end now, it seems NPC ships now purposely ram me at any opertunity they can get, its gotten to the point where everytime I go to a station I will get rammed by a NPC ship (normally the system patrol ships) Every. Single. Time.

It doesn't matter if I do auto-dock, normal piloting, fast or slow, as i'm approaching the mail slot, I hear the Scan alert, the sound of thrusters, and then a massive impact that sends the ship flying. Worst off the Station always- ALWAYS- says i'm at fault. Even when I am auto-docking and have no control.

This may be a pet peeve but its now gotten to the point where I am actively getting fined for wreckless flying, reduced Reputation with the group and Super-Power (Because they think i'm attacking the NPC ships) for some random NPC ramming my ship as if he's some troll from Online play (which i'm playing solo mode for this very reason).

Is this a know bug? Is this something other people are experiencing? because please fix this. The humour is wearing thin as I am constantly being ed over because the NPC's can't navigate a stick to save their pixilated lives.

It's a well known and a "returning" bug. They are working on it. Hopefully haha. You shouldn't be getting fines if you are under 100 m/s or using your docking computer though.

This happens when I leave too, I fly out under the speed limit and as soon as I increase my speed to get out of mass lock a system authority viper aims and rams me. The odd occasion I can dodge them but not in a big ship. I'm always getting fined.

Hello, Sarukin. :)

I'm not so sure this is a bug. When it happened before, everyone was getting rammed - that looked like a bug and I was happy to complain about it. This time, though, it's only affecting certain players - and a fair few of those admit to speeding in the NFZ. FD has several interests in discouraging speeders - not the least of which are reducing the numbers of new players rammed out of existence and minimising support costs for players who are suicidewindered and obliterated by station defences.

Sarukin, are you sure flying under the speed limit made no difference?

I agree with this, as I learned that if you're keeping under the speed limit, the smaller ships -- like the Eagle -- fly incredibly close to me when I'm leaving a station, but they have never hit me. The one time they did, I was exceeding the speed limit, which tells me that the flight path that's set up for the NPCs are done exactly for the reason of jarring the player's nerves by a close fly-by.

When i'm not auto docking I generally go below 100, recently I've resorted to flying into the mail box at 200+ to avoid the kamakazi NPC.
Flying at speeds over 200 towards a small slit is not a fun experience but i'm getting better at it and it's a sure way to avoid the rams.

you do that too .. very effective.. we rarely get fines by doing so..

I avoid only Open game or private group .. simply because of the cost of redemption of the ships of those that I could explode.. NPCs are less unpredictable than players.

I added, there is no fine below 100 .. it's true .. even being hit by a bad driver .. but I'm in a hurry.

or players who deliberately hit you to explode and cause a reaction from the base .. but this is another problem :p
