Newcomer / Intro Will the galaxy eventually become populated?

So I picked up an Adder and decided to go exploring. I opened the galaxy map and looked way off into the galaxy and saw some things I'd like to discover. I then realized that all of those stars way off in the distance are not populated, which means I'd be terribly lonely and have to rely on stars to refuel.

Will these sections of space eventually become populated as the game evolves and explorers do their job?

Likewise, will there ever become a time where an explorer doesn't have much to do because most everything has been explored?

With 400 billion star systems to explore I doubt that everywhere will be discovered anytime soon. Could even be years, hehe.

Yes, the plan is to have human space gradually expand. I've not been out to the edge to check, but I have noticed that some factions that are doing well have been announcing plans to expand to neighboring systems.

There may also be aliens, but no one knows if they are in yet.
