Will the greenhouse be in the JP era sandbox and challenge modes?

I wish to know if the greenhouse will be in the JP era of challenge mode and sandbox mode. Even though it is a claire's sanctuary exclusive building, I could see Dr.Sattler fill in the greenhouse role as she is a paleobotanist in the jurassic park franchise. So it won’t be locked away for those who got the Claire's Sanctuary DLC if we want to play in those eras, It is one of my favorite mechanics introduced via DLC.

Thank you.

I don't know about the mechanic as I still don't have the DLC, but I love the greenhouse itself.

However I'm not sure it will be in: according to BiS, only a handful of buildings had JP skins and I don't think the greenhouse was one of them 🤔

Would have been cool to have them all, though.

On a side note, all DLCs are on sale now in steam!

The greenhouse is a fun building mechanic. Herbivores are very samey if you only differentiate them with social and population needs. So the paleobotany adds a new management where herbivores would live longer and get a higher rating from paleobotany diets, and it is a balancing act to have these herbivores housed together and share a diet they all enjoy or else have a dinosaur die sooner than expected.

One thing that gets me hopeful is how the DLC incorporates other DLC dinosaurs in the main campaign, so an element of merging dlcs is there. I think that the paleobotany should be the exception as the building flows well in the Jurassic Park era. Gyrospheres are replaceable by safari rides in function, as well as the entrance monorails with the guest welcome pad. So the building could either have a JP variant OR could be merged alongside the visitor center as it functions as the main hub of science endeavors and research in JP.

One could hope :)

There's Always the chance that some buildings weren't available in the missions they played. The hatchery wasn't in the "enclosure" tab in mission 1. You can notice that in BiS's vídeo. But we know it is in the DLC.

Yeah, Greenhouse was mentioned specifically as not available in the JP era by BiS, as an example.

Please be accurate in your statements: he didn't say it's not available, he said he couldn't see it in JP era CAMPAIGN. I'll be very surprised if it's not available AT ALL as it is a HUGE balance change. Besides, just like Dr Wu and the extra research, I paid for it so I definitely want it.

He did say he played the sandbox in addition to the Campaign, and specified era when talking about the two being incompatable.

I guess I should watch it again, but I have gone through it three times or so today.

Yeah nothing fundamentally changed on a rewatch.

I'm not sure I heard that but then again, you might be right. If that's the case, I'll be sorely disappointed as this decision to switch it to a different era with significant gameplay changes is turning into sour grapes with lots of pointless arbitrary decisions (such as, allowing indominus rex but not paleobotany? why?)

Also, it's a dev build of a month ago for everyone's information.

A part of me does think it will be possible. I do not mind exclusions of DLC in the JP era as that has a stronger focus on theming. I do have a feeling though that what they played is mostly a build that may only have RTJP content without the SODW or CS DLC as RTJP is the main selling point of that event. So all content may have appropriate JP aesthetics, or it may not. But I feel hopeful about this the more I think about it.

As I said, I'd feel pretty ****ed off if I couldn't have features I paid for. I mean, DLC dinosaurs will be there, all of them. And some features are meant for balance. The Raptor Squad skins will be available in JP Era. So this "traffic light-like" implementation is dubious at best.

Example: where is the sense in having Indominus Rex & Indoraptor but not paleobotany? or the upgrades from Secrets of Dr Wu?

I've also heard that for some reason the aviary doesn't have a JW look - despite being there a JW aviary, very clearly.

I've been reading all this discussion lately and, honestly, it does look like the kind of stupid limitation Frontier will do to screw up the DLC for some people.

It happened with the previous ones. I, and many other people, didn't give a damn about hybrids, and they got forced in Wu's. I, and a lot more people, would have liked best to have those paleobotanies at least also available as sceneary items, if not as new landscape brushes (new forests or bush brushes), but they didn't.

Now, they've also saying there will be research on the JP that is really pointless, such as the treatment against breeding... I mean, why implement such a thing at all? Missions aren't that good, engaging or even fun in this kind of game. Why wasting resources of such things?

I won't ever understand all this 'limits for the sake of limits' thing, really.

I'm fairly certain that's campaign only such as Volcanic silicosis.

It is. I just said, it was pointless. No one really worries about campaign. Those missions are something most of us do once, because they aren't even fun, just something we are forced to do in order to unlock things.

Well that's not entirely true. I like the main campaign - but I immensely dislike Claire's Sanctuary mission (liked rounding dinos up on Nublar tho) - I plan to redo the main campaign after having completed RtJP. I have decided to keep my save tho because I dread redoing Challenge Mode.
