Will there be more DLC?

So after we were debating for months and came to the conclusion the Spring DLC would be the last one, we got the Barnyard Animal Pack. Suffice to say it has been very divisive so far, some love it, some hate it but almost everyone agrees i wouldn't be a good way to end the game. And with the price revealed to be the same as a regular pack, it begs the question is this really the last one? We have no indication that there will be more DLC but so far all of Frontier's creative management games have ended on a bigger "expansion" sort of DLC. What do we think?

The Planet Zoo: Barnyard Animal Pack will be available to purchase for £7.99 ($9.99, 9.99€) on Steam from 30th April.

Yes, most likely. In previous games, the final DLC was larger and priced higher. So this is most likely no the final one.

My outlook on this is that the game just released on console. It's far more cost effective to produce DLC than it is to make a new game. Every year Frontier can release $40 worth of DLC when it would take them 3-5 years to produce a $60 game.

DLC is also far more reliable, provided it's selling well. A new game may not be received well (look at Cities Skylines 2 😬), DLC is much more safe.

If DLC is continuing to sell well on PC and sells well on console than it seems rather foolish to go out and shoot the cash cow rather than continue to milk it.

That being said if we want a PZ2, PlanCo2 or even a Planet Ocean (aquarium game) they're gonna have to stop support eventually.

I have a feeling we'll get at least one more. Would make sense to get to the 200 species mark. Wouldn't that be amazing 😃

Also shouldn't the total number of DLCs be even? They sell them in sets of two for the consoles, right 😊

I'm really scared by them not mentioning more DLC in the financial reports, and the lack of Content# folders. It makes me genuinely worried that there will be no more DLCs, and they'll never tell us so.

On the other hand, logic and emotion tells me there must be more DLC coming, at least 3 more packs to finish 2024. Planet Zoo is one of their strongest games, if not the actual strongest, and it just launched on console; why would you stop making DLC now? It's a money printing machine!!

I'm hoping for more DLCs, and I almost have faith in them coming, but I would love to have confirmation from Frontier - either in an announcement, a financial report, or in the game files.

Seeing that Frontier has released several DLC's based on different biomes on Earth, I would be surprised if they didn't release a new DLC inspired by the alpine biome
