Ships Will this Cobra 3 Shieldless build work for PVP and Assassination missions.

Hey guys I was wondering if this build would work for PVP and perhaps for limited PVE use like Assassination missions. - https://coriolis.edcd.io/outfit/cob...gzOKgjAbFICmBDA5gG0SE1h6A&bn=Cobra Vent Snipe

Keep in mind that the Beam laser turrets will be with Thermal Vent.
Powerplant and Thrusters are setup for heat efficiency so that I can crank up the heat on the Imperial hammers with Short Range.
Beam turrets with Vent and Overcharged should be free damage to target shields.
No Shields hull tank so I can keep pips to engine and weapons.
2k Armor and significant all around protection.
Distributor on recharge since I will not shoot Hammers all the time and it will also give me enough recharge on 3 pips to engine to boost all the time.
It's not very lightweight but I think it will still be maneuverable enough with 500 m/s top speed at boost or even more with pips.
FSD is boosted for range because it's convenient and I don't see huge penalties for doing so.
Sensor is A with reduced weight which makes the difference with D in terms of weight marginal while increasing my range significantly.
Same goes for life support. 25 minutes is good for fighting without canopy because Cobra looses it easily especially with hull tank build.
Fuel tank could be cut down once in specific system.
Interdictor can be replaced with Fuel Scoop for traveling and then switched again.
Chaff with ammo. Might put 1 Heat sink in case with ammo again because I don't know how the heat management will go.

That's it pretty much.
What do you think?
Is it viable?
:S

Swap one chaff for a heat sink launcher.

You will need stealth.

IMO

Truth be told I would carry two. Good Pvp players run fixed. Chaff is useless against them.

For those who do use gimbal? Going stealth will terrify them. I use stealth when I hit a player trade ship. Makes them panic.

Thanks Unicorn, I was thinking the same. I am worried tho, if I will be able to stay silent and not cook my self in 10 seconds by firing those hammers.

Personally, I prefer cannons, and pulse/burst lasers. Those weapons don't generate much heat, so I use them for that reason.

Granted though, my offensive needs are different to yours. You're after a thoroughbred fighter.

I'm just a pirate who only needs to disable a ship. Railguns in my case would be useless. Too much alpha.

I was under the impression that hitting a target while you're silent running will resolve you as a target on their radar no matter your current heat signature?

I have no idea. When I use SR, I only fire against trade ships. Against bounty hunters & gankers, I use it 100% defensively. Don't even deploy hardpoints.

Maybe I'm mistaken then. Hard to tell as I only open fire on a trade ship in an effort to shoot out their engines & cargo hatch.

Bear in mind a Vulture or Ferdie with the right mods can boost up to nearly 550 so that heavyweight build will be at a bit of a disadvantage. A rated sensors I've found make absolutely no difference in terms of gimballed accuracy, only engagement range. This is the reverb torpedo build I've been playing around with which I've been hoping to test against some bad guy players though will need some further refinements. On hold at the moment due to an exploration expedition I'm on at the moment. The gimballed pulses have scramble spectrum to troll them once their shields go pop, though will probably try swapping one of them for a gimballed efficient thermal vent beam which hopefully the puny 3D power dizzy can cope with...

Advantage with this is if anything does go wrong, my rebuy is dirt cheap :)

EDIT: For the power distribution I lock it at 1 sys (for utils as they do use some juice), 4 eng and 1 wep (torps don't have any distributor draw) before I deploy hardpoints

show you on radar but not be able to lock.

Keep in mind that the Beam laser turrets will be with Thermal Vent. Right now thermal vent is only removing the heat from the weapon, is not possible to 0% anymore.
Powerplant and Thrusters are setup for heat efficiency so that I can crank up the heat on the Imperial hammers with Short Range. Id advise against using hammers and SR.
Beam turrets with Vent and Overcharged should be free damage to target shields. Not enough damage , better to use something fixed to do the job better, PLUS extra hull will eman you can use you SHIP (AKA RAM) to damage shields and Ships hulls.
No Shields hull tank so I can keep pips to engine and weapons. 4 pip to weapons reduce weapon heat build
2k Armor and significant all around protection. not really, missiles can end you with a few volleys. that's why most people run no shield AND SR.
Distributor on recharge since I will not shoot Hammers all the time and it will also give me enough recharge on 3 pips to engine to boost all the time.
It's not very lightweight but I think it will still be maneuverable enough with 500 m/s top speed at boost or even more with pips. It's enough , most people don't have this wonder FDLs and most of those who do, will be very prominent to a very well placed RAM.

Sensor is A with reduced weight which makes the difference with D in terms of weight marginal while increasing my range significantly.you dont get the point here, better ranked sensor more integrity, if you are losing integrity you're **rewed. dont overdo it and lose integrity.

I'm all for different builds, try it maybe you can create a new meta, like the mines that i did. It's just experimentation, if you can live with the fact that you can be losing your time go on!
