Will this Laptop run Elite Dangerous?

Does anybody have experience running Elite on a system with these specs: Intel Core i3-4005U, 1,7GHz, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, NVIDIA GeForce 820M?

I have an Core i3 in my desktop but I have 8 GB RAM and I think a better graphics card (not sure, friend of mine who knows more about this stuff than me build my PC for me).

No, but I'm unless I'm mistaken you can play the demo version for free to see if it won't implode when you start the game.

Will it run? Yes.
High res? No.
Someone mentioned the other day that an I3 can run the game just fine because of hyperthreading.

I run it medium configured on a laptop 3 years of age. I believe the processor is better than yours, but your graphics card seems better. I think it will be fine.

Once I got everything set up I will give a report. I am more than willing to reduce details and resolution to be able to play on the go while on business trips. And I think the game looks pretty on low details as well.

yes it will, mine has a GT325M 1GB, i5 cpu

I can run it fine in minimum, yours should be able to run at least that :)

My company laptop is now a Dell precision M6500. Which has an Core I5 820m @2,66ghz , 4gb RAM and a quatro Fx 2800m. and it runs ED fine even at not quite minimal settings, alle minimum, but Fxaa and object distance to max @ 25pfs in asteroids:

and before that i had a M4400 there, which had even weaker components and had run ED windowed just fine. so i think you are good. :)

I use a HP Envy m6-1225dx - 15.6" - Core i5 3230M - Windows 8 64-bit - 8 GB RAM - 750 GB HDD with a Intel HD Graphics 4000 built in. I have no problems running this game on it. I have it at medium settings and it runs fine.

When I go to http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri to see if my system can play Elite it tells me I can't run the game. It's wrong.

Not in any kind of satisfactory way I don't think.

Edit: but opinions are subjective. :)

I can run ED on my netbook! (ASUS Transformer)

Intel Atom @1.7GHz, 2GB Ram + Shared GFX

Everything has to be on very low detail and it is quite jerky when docking but it does work... Just!

I run ED on my laptop.

My Alienware i7 quad-core overclocked Nvidia GTX 880M laptop. :D

Erm, please read the original post. The poster was worried about the minimum specs and would his setup run ED OK.
Anyway, congratulations on having a super Alienware laptop with all the bells and whistles on it.

By the way, My dad is bigger than your dad.
