Informed speculation based on what we know of the game, and the latest Newsletter:
Lakon is known for making exploration and hauling vehicles. According to the latest newsletter, this is Lakon's foray into combat-exploration vehicles. Judging by the heavy armor it looks to be a cross between a Vulture and an Asp. It is supposed to "more affordable" but that is a relative term.
If you look at the max jump ranges of bare-bones ships with exploration scanners and shields, there is a steady 2-3 LY progression from the Hauler to Asp, and then a big 7-8 LY jump up to the Anaconda. It makes sense that the Diamondback would fill this slot with a featherweight jump range of 34-36 LY.
It looks to be a little bit smaller than the Asp, but bigger than Vulture, so it probably will have cargo room something in between those two. The class of load out will probably be in 4-6 range as well. It looks like it will have room for at least one large weapon on bottom of the cockpit.
