Will we be able to find Raxxla with the new Exploration update?

It's a personal journey and not a community goal, it also seems unrelated to other Galnet and recent lore stories.

I would say that it's impossible to find it now. Even eye balling the planets we don't really know what to look for. Yes it's an alien base, but which alien race? Not a Thargoid, not even a Guardian one.

It would be interesting to know if the new ship scanners and mapping probes would be able to detect some signal that could lead us to find Raxxla.

I was also wondering if the Elite New Era refers to new galaxies. So in Q4 FDEV gives us the instrument to find Raxxla, which will open a complete new way of traveling across the galaxy and across the universe. I'm not saying we will explore new galaxies (we already have enough stars in the Milky Way!), but there will probably be some connection to the closest ones (Andromeda for example) where the Elite story could be expanded.

What do you guys think about it?

Our tools were efficient enough to find it before, so I don't know. If people will be in for quick bucks or drive by exploration, most likely...no?

However surface scans will allow to eliminate potential candidates much quicker. There's hope.

I don't think so, our current tools can't tell if there is a POI on the planet from the orbit, that's why we need to eye ball all the time.
So I'm wondering what type of information we will receive from the probes:

-just POI indication
-distinction between geological and artifical features
-identification of anomalies and unkown technologies

I was exactly referring to this.

Imagine you are in the bubble taking a couple of VIPs to a tourist beacon and while jumping and scooping to your destination you find a a system with a secondary red dwarf star 500,000 LY from the entry point with just a cople of rocky planets. Will you stop your mission to eye ball those planets? No way!

Now I would be really courious to get there if the discovery scanners tells me there is some weird feature on the surface..

Even Planetary landings were also a far off dream.

I think Raxxla is definitely a POI. And it most likely will be discoverable by new tools.

So in nutshell I almost agree that new tools will help, but will it help find Raxxla...hard to say. It really depends what kind of exploration players will prefer. Will they try to map all planets? Will they just gather body information?

Most likely it got visually improved and upgraded as versions of game came along.

My dream scenario is that they’ve been busy seeding the galaxy with very rare poi’s and this new update at least gives us a chance of finding something if we end up in the right system

That’s just a forum myth. No one has ever found the source for this claim.

That may be the case. It could for example be Founder’s world.
The quest would then be to prove it, not to find it.

While it's location may be in the game, it wouldn't be something anyone would find since there's almost guaranteed to be zero content revolving around it or such content would have been leaked in data files or thru employees chatting with players. Without content, a raxxla discovery would be tremendously embarrassing to frontier since it's the biggest and most important hidden mystery in the game.

So rest assured that raxxla will not be discovered until after the content surrounding it is actually in the game. Then again, this is frontier and some of us still remember jaques.

That's the point of my OP if you read it all.

What if the New Elite Era has something to do about that (just speculating of course).
