Will we ever get to change the colors of our hud?

It may sound petty, but it made a huge difference to me on PC. I just didn't like staring at orange all of the time, and the personal touch it would give your ship is really nice, and yes I know "play PC then." Well my PC might as well be a potato and all of my friends are on the Xbox one lol. Even if we just got to choose from say 5 preset color palettes, it would make a big difference. Has there been any word on this? I would think it wouldn't be too much hassle to implement, changing the colors on PC was fairly simple. Anyone else feel this way? Maybe someone important will read this and we could get the ball rolling, one can only hope...

The only way we do it on the PC is editing the games configuration files on the disk. So I am not sure how that can be done on the Xbox.
Maybe one day they will implement it properly as a feature in the game, allowing us to change the HUD without actually colour shifting everything. But don't hold you breath I have been in ED for two years and this was requested in the very early days.

Ive read up on this a lot. Most of the reasons that they give is because it would require recoding a lot of the games UI or something along those lines an in doing so would take a while. There focusing on all the things there releasing for the season of expansions over that it seems. Or at least what i've read over the few years.

Editing of the PC version game HUD colors has always been unofficially supported. As it can cause unintended results. While it will be nice to have such a thing available, there's no plans for this currently on the XB1.

That's unfortunate. You see, it may seem like a little thing but it would matter a lot for the players. Honestly I don't know how much work it would be (I know there are a lot of screen elements) or why is it not on the agenda, and I understand it, but after the Horizons update and finally catching up to the PC version the only thing remains on the wishlist of many of us is this customization option. Of course, not many games do this (Fallout 4 is one of the few I know of) but it would be a great experience to have the option to adjust HUD colours. It's one of those little things that mean a lot for the experience. No wonder many PC commanders do it even unofficially. I hope Frontier will change their minds one day and finally develop this.

It's far from difficult to argue this is be an accessibility issue. Having different colour HUDs would surely aid people with some visual difficulties.

Unintentionally results like purple skinned humans for the engineers

Blue and Peach would be nice. Then again, so would real wood trim on the interior of the Imperial ships. Ashtrays (sealed in motion), humidors, etc. Nothing states success and seniority like a mid-flight stogie.

I definitely think it has some weight behind it, just for the partially colorblind crowd. Battlefield had different hud palettes you could swap between if you had any color deficiencies, or if you just wanted different colors. I mean they set up the colors it is now, and all values you change to adjust the colors of each section of the hud. That system is still in place, we just need access to it, or just let them make however many approved preset color groups like several people on reddit did for PC, it was just copy paste, and them boom slick new hud. That way you don't accidentally make it to where you cant see a difference between friendly pilots or hostiles. Or not and just turn us loose on it. After all since when has ED cared about being complicated or having a steep learning curve. Just have a reset hud color values option, a nuclear button if you will. That way if you want pink and green, fine. You cant decipher anything on your hud? Try again until you find settings that work for you. But let us have those awesome looking UI's, please...
