will we ever see a .1G soccer game in station?

Don't think I haven't noticed the "line up" lines in the Anaconda Parking spot looks remarkably like the lines of a soccer field. ;)

I wonder if someday ill be trying to park and see a game going on one of those out of the corner of my eye.

the 2578th world cup will take place in the docking bay of an Orbis station orbiting Earth.

Actually, we (and FD) have 2 years to get ready for the 342nd World Cup that is held in the year 3302.
FIFA (now Fédération Interplanétaire de Football Association) hosts the games between worlds, not nations.

Edit: forgot about the WW2 hiatus

This post reminded me of a sci fi story I once read about a character who was able to strap wings to his arms and fly within a colony on the moon using his own muscle power because of the reduced gravity. Imagine that the football players were able to strap on wings to their arms and play the game whilst flying. The action would be great, but there would be some very nasty collisions.

Not in the year 3300. Actually, if the game of football is still played in that age and they keep the one world cup every four years, then the year 3300 will not be a world cup year, the previous would have been 3298 (the 341st one) and the following would be in 3302 (the 342nd one). Just wanted to put the out there.

Your world cup would then be in the year 12246.

Do all the worlds have their own world cups? and if so, does that mean there is a galaxy cup?
I don't really follow football so I'm not sure about the interplanetary aspects of it....

Not only that! The coriolis effect would make the ball move in, let's say, rather unusual ways. Straight lines are for whimps! I'm not at all into football, but this I would watch simply for the laughs.

PS: I prefer the term Soccer.. because while it is ambiguous what Football means depending on where you are in the world, there is no ambiguity when I say Soccer.

But yeah, the idea of a Soccer ball bouncing off my window mid dock, with the echoing "ooooh!!!" booming over the speakers from the crowd.. made me smile.
