Will we have an android as npc crewmember?

there was a game back in the day on the speccy called psi5 trading company.....you had to carefully select a crew from androids and aliens and robot types...great stuff.

From the look of them, I'm betting the Gutamaya ships will only interface with Apple devices.

There are still AI in the Elite universe, however if it will be in the ED universe we don't know as FD has said that they will change the lore a bit in ED.

I'm hoping that a future storyline will have AI that's escaped bubble returning in some form, not necessarily hostile. Its a common enough space opera trope that would suit the ED fiction.

Given my combat skills, if they're super evolved intelligences, they really wouldn't want to be on my ship as a crew member.

I misread the title title as astroid NPC for a crew member. My brain threw up a brief, confusing image of a big rock sat in the copilot seat.

I don't think it is clear exactly what stage of technological development humanity is in ED. There is faster than light travel and space orbitals, but no way to find out what the commodity markets are trading without physically going there. But it doesn't seem to be at the android level yet. Would be interesting to see whether there will be real technological development in game in the future.

I saw some advertising from a company called Achilles in the new High tech Station interior. It clearly depict some android i will make a screen capture and post it there.

Nice spot. That's the first ED robot artwork I've seen (not counting limpets)

Its a little bit nondescript to be on my crew. If it was in the copilot seat I'd at least make it wear a hat and jaunty scalf.
