Will we need Horizons to access the new huge weapons in the upcoming update?

Tried searching everywhere but I didn't really see any details as to whether we plebs that still have the base game will need to upgrade to see these items.

If anyone knows or if by luck a dev sees this to confirm/deny/speculate, thanks ahead of time!

I doubt it very much, fairly certain it's only engineers that you will miss out on.

100% sure that some weapons will be locked from base game owners as shield recharge lasers will be one of the thing we can get from engineers.

Those will be unavailable because they require an Engineer upgrade.

This topic is specifically referring to the standard, new Class 4 weapons.

My bet is that they will be available to everyone, as they can be bought anywhere, not just on a planet's surface.

yeah but following same logic huge beams can be two large beams taped to next to each other with duck tape by engineer.

I sure hope that's the case 777Driver, chances are if more positive details about engineers come out I will pick up Horizons either way. Personally, I just can't justify the price tag for what is currently available, but I also want to start familiarizing myself with it should the upcoming content be worth it, especially if it will gate the class 3/4 weapons behind it.

Well price probably won't go up, so waiting until its released won't hurt you.

I'm more worried about this not because I don't have Horizons, but because my calcu...er, laptop can't RUN Horizons, and I can't afford the vastly needed system upgrade just yet. But I really, REALLY want those large multis for my Vulture...

I have no doubt, as has already been said here, that Class 4 weapons will be available to all.. they will be core game components and as such part of the 1.6 update imo
