Windowed Borderless SLI Help

Hello all,

I am wondering if anyone knows how to fix SLI when it comes to borderless windowed mode? I always have severe dropping of frames when not in SLI and I head to a planet's surface. I play in borderless mode because I twitch stream while I play. I was hoping there might be some work around with NVidia inspector while we wait for an official fix.

Thanks!

Can you describe your problem?

I play in SLI borderless window mode and it works just fine (apart form that bit of stuttering that the Cobra Engine always has).

I use OBS Multi-platform software and have no issues live streaming full screen in hi-def.

I'm running 2 x 970 in SLI with 3 x 1920x1080 spanned at pretty much top settings (except for supersampling) . I use windowed for the trade computer extentions overlays and only suffer minor stuttering. I get about 45FPS on planets... 150 in space. 60 in stations. (I usually limit framerate to 60fps anyway).

If you deactivate the framerate limit (with activated vsync) you get a bit less stuttering, while the CPU still doesn't calculate more frames than are synced.

Also, I deactivated ambient occlusions, it's a huge issue on some engines (although with E:D, it doesn't have much of an impact).

Well, I can verify that SLI is not functioning when in windowed borderless. In NVidia control panel I enable the SLI montoring band (the green graph bar with SLI up towards the top) and where SLI is, there is no green box. Whereas in windowed mode, the green box appears next to the SLI text.

Here is my config:
OS windows 10
2x GeForce 770 GTX 2 gig
driver 361.43 WHQL

Agreed that there are no issues with full screen, however, I toggle between chat, my bot control panel, and I have the stream of my co-streamer running at the same time. I prefer windowed borderless, but will toggle between the two if I need to.

+REP for good advice.

Ambient off gives me about 50fps on planets... It has no issues, but it is definitely the "heaviest" load on the GFX cards.

Yes, I have done this as well. However I still run into encoder issues. While the game runs fine, the stream drops to about 5-15 FPS, which is unwatchable. In SLI, there are no issues with the encoder or game, and I can play on maximum settings. So you can understand why I'd prefer to get back to SLI borderless :)

Thank you all for the ideas and help!

I'll also check the bug reports to see if anyone has posted this yet.
