The Replicated Man

Cheating is cheating. You may condone players cheating but understand that others, including the developers themselves do not. Equivocating and whatabouting such as using straw man arguments like "the only reason to worry about cheating is if [insert special circumstance here]..." is basically saying that you think cheating should be allowed.
Well the developers disagree and that really should be the end of it on the whole "but cheating should be allowed if..." arguments. The sooner this issue of cheating is presented with a set of consequences and disincentives the sooner we can move on and the sooner the developers can stop trying to balance the primary mechanics of their game around a cheat, i.e. building game enhancements on top of quick sand. You want them to focus on game enhancements but you don't want those game enhancements to be worth a damn because you also want to allow for cheaters to bypass them entirely thus perpetuating the self defeating stance of "one rule for some, another rule for others".
Whether you believe it or not others cheating or exploiting the system does indeed affect your game. It makes the developers have to constantly try to balance their game around cheats and what the cheaters will do next. They should instead be tackling the cheat directly. If unable to plug it up completely (like the 5-1 engineers cheat) then minimising its use so it doesn't completely render their legit mechanics like C&P utterly meaningless to the egregiously offending players they were designed to stop in the first place (yes, most greifers and some murder hobos combat log).
At the end of the day, if you're not bothered by combat logging and you yourself don't combat log then you should also not be bothered at all if the developers create a couple of inconveniences to give legit combat loggers a bit of extra hassle. Such as this proposal here:

And temp bans to the test server for proven repeat offenders. This is part of their job as developers of an ongoing online game so it would not be taking them away from doing "game enhancements", which this actually falls under the category of. It's also beneficial to the devs themselves because it means future gameplay enhancements like proper C&P wouldn't just be an exercise of peeing into the wind.
To be honest there is a difference between condoning logging and just saying that it doesn't bother you.
