Windows 10 "Threshold 2" update broke the 0.5 Oculus runtime

If you have a problem using the Switcher v3 for windows 10 with the last update... here is the solution!

-Go to Switch 0.5
-Go to device administrator
-Show monitors
-Right click on Oculus DK2 and uninstall
-Check the square of unisntall software

Try to close and open the device and it will work!!!!! ( or make a extended mode for DK2 )

Now i can play ED with 0.5 with the update of windows.

I can confirm this works on windows 10 latest update, and using the runtime switcher.

I've got it working even simpler under the latest Windows update:


I just run the Switcher v3 0.5 switch WITHOUT administrator privileges. This produces an error message as not all files can be replaced BUT I noticed it also turns the led on the Rift blue. Simply click the error message away and al least I'm all set to go. ED runs fine at 75Hz.

The first time I did this I also had to rotate my new Rift display 90 degrees via the normal windows Display settings where the Rift is now listed as an additional screen. You might have already done so months ago under older drivers, i don't know, I'm running on a fresh new pc. I also tried everything described in this thread first, Kimixpixel's solution worked fine for me but this is even simpler. (to switch back I do use the 0.7 switch with administrator privileges)

While going through this post and a previous I found a working solution. The previous post mentioned a registry key that must be deleted but you need to download https://www.apreltech.com/Downloads/runassystem.exe and run regedit as System in order to delete (HKEY_Local_Machine\System\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Display\OVR0003)
Once I deleted this key I restarted the pc, installed 0.5 and still same response. Turns out after I deleted that key and reinstalled it showed up in Nvidia Control Panel so I turned it on, waited, reset the orientation and it is now working great. I hope this helps some of you!
