Windows 10's privacy issues & alleged foreign-country privacy law violations. The question is, Why?

A few months back, Canadian Authorities and the Canadian Privacy Legislation launched a deep investigation into the new operating system Windows 10. Even a senior Russian lawmaker called for the ban of Windows 10 use in the Russian government due to Microsoft's aggressive move against even the entirety of the definition "privacy" itself.

You know things get serious when the federal government begins questioning.

The big question is here, why is Windows 10 targeting privacy? What is the point of Microsoft shaking hands with anti-privacy people?

Is it an attempt to track every action you do to enhance advertising based on your personality? Can there be possibly any other reason to privacy intrusion? The knowledge of us knowing mass-surveillance discourages us from researching a particular subject, and has us believe that searching up things that the wealthier people out there generally don't want us to know about would attract unwanted attraction (such as, SUV's with tinted windows and laptop mounts showing up at your house). Attempt to see the general personality and trends of the majority of people to enhance propaganda methods? Even though I myself have nothing to hide, I still have my concerns for privacy--that doesn't mean i'm a terrorist, does it?

This is a rather frustrating issue, as it is, Microsoft isn't against privacy, at least not as I see it, windows 10 simply comes with a ton of features that need a lot of information to do what they should do, if you do not use these features there is very little issue, and I don't think anything has been proven with these statements, it is kinda how Apple Siri, most definitely has access and can look at a ton of your information if not every single bit of it, yet people aren't upset at that? I would love to see actual proof rather then hearsay.

Of course, generally thinking that privacy intrusion is a "Big Illuminati Agenda" is a crackpot's way of thinking--at least that's not my reason to believe why privacy is being interdicted anyways. I do have my opinion that privacy intrusion has a bad but harmless agenda behind it, but this thread's point is not to discuss opinions on whether or not if it's a big NSA thing,

The point... the point is that if it ever does turn out that information is being collected too much without consent, then why?

its not specific to "non-USA". its still a crime in all countries(including USA)to threat things that not belongs to you, like yours, when you in some circumstances/reasons may had access to them. including personal data, actitity and etc.
the only major difference is "in continental law" you cannot fortress yourself from law by bogus/shady/tricky "agreements", ToS, licenses anymore. law is law and you had Respecf(letters AND spirit of).
frankly-speaking its a shame that there wasn't anyone with balls to stand up against in USA aswell.
seriously-speaking its not really as overhaliming(yet ;) as in Google/Alphabet products/services(those thats not directly invoved them into intel collecting, processing, analysing, storing, distributing, aswell as waing clandestine operations across globe by corps personells and subsidaries) was way worser in that respects. same about Apple.
and also thing its not really wise to turn DESKTOP platform to Android-alike mess/monstrocity, where is only 10% suff working for customers and actually things that he paid for and interested in, while rest - was working Against them.
would cost more that just money to company, eventually. but thats kinda generic shift in US companies in circa 8-12 last years. so yeah, "gangster-top-management" not really Wise idea, even short-term.
if you from Microsoft but not worry about particular investigation and cases in Canada and in Russia - they opened mostly to "legalise" kinda(in temporal mean/angle)than counter them and raised as permature measures by corporate lobbysts in fear that it may come into uncontrollable(by them)level.
no big deal basically. MS start intel-gathering and exfiltrated private data since Windows2000 i think, so despite dramatically different Level - thats not reallly "something new".
