Windows 7 64 bit

Hi Guys,

I have just updated my machine to run Windows 7 64bit OS.
As such, had to reinstall stuff, including Elite Dangerous Alpha. Whne I return to my store account, I don't have the option of downloading the alpha.
Is it something to do with the 64 bit OS?

Many thanks

All your internet cookies will have gone with the OS change. Have you logged in again to your account? (Just asking in case you haven't.)

Also (probably has nothing to do with it) make sure your JAVA and flash player is up to date... NB: ONLY download from the official source websites (www.java.com - www.adobe.com). Sometimes websites have code which doesn't execute properly if you don't have these installed. Not sure if the store uses any. Just a thought.

That's not quite fair, Patrick. An OS change has absolutely no relevance to how frontier's web store works... Yeah, this *might* just be a case of missing cookies, but frankly, that's not something you can blame microsoft for - let's be frank, this is a user error situation.

(Anyway, why would anyone even think that reinstalling OS would in any way cause this? There's absolutely no logic in that reasoning... Might as well blame the phases of the moon, or influence of voodoo magics)

Only read the original post but I reckon it's probably the phases of the moon, or influence of voodoo magics. IMHO, of course.

But seriously, the OS will have no effect on what you see in the web store, and probably a lot of people (including me) are using W7-64 and have no issues.

I can confirm that the store works perfectly fine without Flash or Java. I have neither on my Elite machine. Both are poorly coded heavily exploited pieces of crap software that aren't strictly needed. Flash is probably needed, but Java is probably not needed.

“Society is elitist,” ; however, according to Buxton, it is not so much society that is elitist, but rather the absurdity, and some would say the failure, of society. If subconstructivist textual theory holds, we have to choose between the preconstructivist paradigm of narrative and capitalist discourse. However, Sontag uses the term ‘neotextual libertarianism’ to denote a cultural whole.

We are the 14. Have you managed to download ? If yes, the problem came from where ? We hope all that you have resolved, commander.
