Wing and Multicrew

Good day! Why can't we make the wing and Multicrew joint ? I wish that I was in the wing and joined me for Multicrew !

Multi-crew has generally felt half finished since it was released and even little things like removing the wing/crew distinction would be helpful.

Sure it would be better, but this game's peer-to-peer netcode is dodgy with large number of people, so I'm managing my expectations.

Bumping this because either:

Net code problem needs resolving (probably needs an upgrade anyway tbf)

or

This oversight leaves a gaping hole in the game for ex-CMDRs and friends who cannot commit to the grind beyond occasionally piloting fighters for their friends who are full time players.

My best guess is that they use two slightly different interactions if you are multicrew or winged together... I wonderning if they are not sort of using client/server model for multicrew, where everyone connects to the Ship CMDR when doing multicrew, and then we get some sort of hybrid mess when we are in an instance with other CMDRs...

Wings should in reality be no different than being a couple of CMDRs in the same instance, with just a few UI changes and a bit more shared information between wing members, like select wingman target etc.

Then another issue with mixing wing an multicrew could have been the I am about to explode, so I switches to multicrew to join another ship in the wing, and poof my ships is saved and another ship got a boost.... to think of one of the more ovbious possible abuses that would have to atleat be thought of.

Sadly this is not the only feature addeed, that added new mechanics that does not interact well with existing mechanisms. SLF, are printed and thus much more reusable, SRV are physical and cannot be printed, despite this, SRV require more Power!!! Then we have the updated landing UI to help with landing on planets, to help you level yourself against the ground, this makes in it most cases a child play for most CMDRs to land on a planet, but they can't sometimes figure out why they can't land on a landing pad, becasuse they are not leveled... and that is just two examples where new functions does interact well with exisiting functions or add new functionality that does not update the old implementation with the new options.
