Has something changed with how wing/team beacons work? Used to be, if I had a friend and he dropped out of supercruise, and I locked onto his beacon drop signal, I could haul buttocks towards it and I would drop out right next to him when I was close enough, no need to ease up at 7 seconds speed or anything. And with high wakes, I recall being able to just drive towards the high wake beacon signal and FSD would auto-jump you to wherever the teammate went.
But now, I'm not finding that to be the case. In fact, I had a heck of a time getting into the same space CZ as a friend, I kept dropping 650km away from him, finally I turned my beacon to "off" and it seemed to allow me to get into the same CZ, but only while locking onto the CZ, it seemed like his beacon signal didn't do anything except prevent me from jumping in nearby.
Have I missed something to how the mechanic changed perhaps?
