Wing Coaster in Fast Track Livestream

I am a huge fan of the Wing Coaster, love GateKeeper and even Wild Eagle is a pretty good ride. One thing both of these have in common... A lift hill. In fact, I only know of one launched Wing Coaster and that's the one at Holiday World. Watching the live stream and double checking the uploaded video's afterwards, it would seem that ONLY a launched version is available. There is no lift chain option in the menu.

Please tell me this is just an oversight, and we will be getting a normal lift version!?!

Aside from that, I am ecstatic about Alpha 2, the huge amount of content/functionality we are getting is insane!

There is another launched wing coaster in portaventura, its called Furious Baco. But i would also like to be able to build a lift hill.

This is just the first official pass at coasters and they have already hinted that there will be a great deal more in terms of released coasters in the future so although not in Alpha 2 I would suspect more by release date, although again not for Alpha Phase 3 as we would have already tested the coaster principles by then and that is what Alpha is about.

If they know they work and that we can use them and the current coasters show the principle features then dropping in more designs will be something they can work on all the way to release then.

Regards,

Adam

The team did state rather clearly, repeatedly I might add, that they were including every available feature each coaster comes with in real life. It is obvious that the designers have been reading company handbooks and alike, they hinted as much.

Best,
R.

Furious Baco is actually an Intamin version of the Wing Rider, and Intamin is a lot more familiar with Launch Technology. To my knowledge B&M has only built the one Launch Wing Rider coaster at Holiday World. I make that point as the Coaster Planet Wing Coaster is quite obviously modeled on the B&M version.

True, this could just be a way for them to get the train into the game and test out the launch pieces. I hadn't considered that. And quite possibly they just haven't gotten the design done on the lift pieces (lift motor and catwalks) for this specific coaster. It just surprised me to see it in game without its' "default" mode I guess.

My only concern is the size of the tunnel created when they pushed the track underground; it did not look anywhere near wide enough.

The thing I liked best, was it looked easier to make the coasters, different then what it is now. Also the tool to create tunnels and raise land is really nice. This game is going to be awesome, It is awesome now, so just imagine when it is finally done.
Planet Coaster and everything I see happening is great. I can't wait. Its going to be great. Right now I am just learning how things work. By the time it is a full game, I will be at least a little ahead. Love those Peeps.

That's a good point, they made a point of showing how much effort they had put into making the Dive Coaster lift catwalks look realistic.

Also the station didn't seem to have any way for the guests to realistically get to the other side of the train. I wonder if they will have a split queue and bridge over the station like in real life?

I was also questioning if it was going to eventually be a dual sided station. One issue I had with the Dive Coaster catwalks is the funnels appeared to be sitting on the inner catwalk piece as opposed to in the hole where they should be.

ANOTHER thing that should be mentioned... The Dive Coaster HAS FUNNELS.... Does this mean we will be able to create splash downs?

I'm sure people are worrying over nothing. The video on the livestream showed a launched B&M Wingrider like Thunderbird ,the ONLY one of it's type. Every other B&M Wingrider has a lift hill.

As RJGEvans pointed out, the devs have said all available options will be available for each coaster type. So lift hills will almost certainly be part of this coaster. Just because one wasn't seen on that particular video, it doesn't mean they won't be in the game.

I am very pleased at the way the launch works... not at break neck speeds as previous (and current) games. I noticed options to tweaky-tweak the launch speed and final speed too

Yes the new coaster builder and the wing coaster look amazing! And they did say have some more polishing to do before the alpha release, so maybe they'll widen the tunnel for the wing coaster and check everything.

I'm sure they'll also add a lift hill too! The Swarm at Thorpe Park is the UK's only winged coaster, and that has a lift hill! So will the inspiration so close, I'm sure they'll add it in (definitely for release if not). [big grin]
