Wing mate Pilot ejection able to be picked up and become multicrew

If you are in a wing, and say your ship gets destroyed, you normally ejecto seato and get the rebuy screen.

What if, during that rebuy screen, you still made your choice of sidewinder or your main ship and there was an additional option for people who are in a wing to wait for rescue by wing mate.

if you choose to wait, you do exactly that, float aimlessly until a wing mate scoops you up by ship or limpit.

They only have a set amount of time to do so and the cargo scoop is much more forgiving for the sake of picking up in battle, or even use a limpit to grab them.

If a ship doesn't have the ability to use multi-crew they cant target you for pickup.

Now comes the issue of the stowaways function.

This could be predetermined in the menu the same way turrets are. Have it to where its preset and waiting. That way if there is still battle going on they do not have to devote more time and risk than needed.

This could potentially change engagements in the future.

Cutters wing mate ejects after being destroyed by 3 or 4 vipers.

The cutters pilot knows if these vipers are skilled pilots he will never get a solid solution on them.
To top it off they have a dual fighter bay, but an NPC pilot who keeps getting killed by the vipers.

Having a second crew member could mean that they now have the ability to change the fight by deploying a second fighter along with their npc fighter or any other task determined by the ship owner.
 
For this to even work, FDev need to implement mixed Wing/Multicrew, and allow you to mix multicrew and wing up to a maximum 4 players.


Other than that I like the idea.
 
Aside from mixing wing & multicrew, what you described already exists.

Die, eject, go to rebuy screen, rebuy ship, spawn at a station, open multi-crew tab, join Cutter. In fact, it already exists for a wing of two, as per your example - respawn in repurchased ship, leave wing, open multi-crew tab, join Cutter.
