Wing/multicrew piracy borked.

I knew that there have been long ago found issues with wing piracy, and other commanders in the instance causing the enemys thrusters to reboot.

Last night we tried a little multicrew piracy, to demonstrate the bumpstop technique...

Or so we thought.

The multicrew caused the enemy ships speed to become locked once drives were disabled, as if under a constant thrust.

No amount of bumping, ramming etc, would change the drifting ships speed. It was a constant, and was strong enough to tow me along with it.

We tried again, to confirm it was not a one off, and the same event occurred.

On terminating the multicrew session, just for added insult, the ships thrusters instantly rebooted, and he jumped away.

Just putting it out there, in the hopes someone spots it with an eye to fix in the future, especially with multicrew looking an integral part of Odyssy.

Sounds like a PvE piracy problem, or does this also affect PvP piracy?

I still want grappling limpets to be added to the game so we can slow ships down without resorting to "bumping".

Is shooty pew in FPS now considered "multicrew"? It takes a bit more than that.
well this statement from FDev would lead me to consider multicrew as an integral point of the design:

Absolutely! For instance, there would be nothing to stop a Commander in an Alliance Crusader have 1 of their multi-crew teammates deploying in a Ship Launched Fighter, landing and deploying the other multi-crew teammate in an SRV, before heading in on foot themselves.

It's been long, long overdue that piracy needs a revamp. Many aspects of it, including pay, spawning of ships carrying valuables, the ship stopping technique, etc...
Sad to read that happened, it's yet another problem with piracy o_O

You can already join other ships now. Nothing to do with Odyxssey.
At the moment you can only join as a hologram not physically. So in odyssey you can fly with a friend, land and get out on foot all on the same ship. Which was why FDev said they were adding in a "shuttle" service so you can get to your friends ship without having to fly your own ship all the way there.

Odyssey is combat on legs and gathering herbs as ingredients for crafting. Nothing suggests multicrew is integral part of that. Naturally you wouldn't assume the other parts of the game go inaccessible when playing Odyssey so, ship combat and multicrew are just a part beside the new content.
In the quote "before heading in on foot themselves." would be the part that constitutes Odyssey.

That is some very selective reading there.

There is much more mentioned than that.

But it does show you are seroiusly entrenched against the idea of multicrew being an integral part of the design in odyssy, and I do not possess the will to try and change your mind.

Still, if this thread does make it come to the attention of someone that can repair this issue one day, its a success reguardless.

I believe it stands more chance than the present dreadful bug report system at least.

-also, did you spot my cunning plan... Post this reply just prior to teabreak, in the chance an employee browses the forum whilst dipping a biccy.

I rather think it's the opposite way around. You read too much in marketingspeak that isn't really there. Or we just understand "multicrew" being quite different things.
