Wingman Shared Bounties No Share

My wingman and I went to low security area to rat for bounties. As of update 2.3 and beyond, apparently you're supposed to get "shared" bounties. Meaning the bounty killed should go to everyone in the group, and present for that kill. Well, this was not the case!
Any help would be appreciated...

Did they tag the target? The share doesn't just happen.

Yep, make sure everyone in the wing tags the target at least enough to make them go red / hostile.
