Wings and chat window/tabs are tedious and frustrating

Is it just me or chatting to wing members and other players is really tedious?

1. Pressing space gives me the chat for the wing. Ok thats good.
2. A random player chats to me. I want to chat to them only. Now I have to move to one of the other tabs, select said player and select TEXT CHAT. This is tedious, very tedious.
3. If wing member wants to chat now, I have to ESC twice and press space again.
4. If I go back to the random player I have to go through the laborious process of selecting the right player again.

This is slow and frustrating. :mad:

Does anyone have a better method of chatting?

Don't suggest teamspeak, I'm already on there. Teamspeak doesn't help when you are trying to switch to the random player.

There are shortcut keys.

Open chat and begin as if to type a message, then use:

/r (to reply to the last person who spoke to you)
/w (to chat to the wing)

You can also press TAB to cycle through the people who spoke to you.

If you are in a hurry just use the general comms chat window, press 2 type message press enter. (you need autofocus on text window turned on in options)

Its very quick but everyone can see it.

If in a wing you can't beat a voicechat, just don't laugh at how Americans pronounce python (they don't understand).
