Powerplay Wings - and sharing merits

Can someone tell me how this works? Do you simply wing up in a expansion zone and share the merits for any kills you might get?

:S

It is my understanding that teaming up in crime sweeps is the most efficient way to make merits. Target same enemy, kill faster, share merits. I've pulled in over 2500 merits in a full wing one session. In fact, it drives me a bit bonkers to see a bunch of Cmdr's that don't wing up. The merits will flow and you will also spread the unwanted attention around to keep your shields alive. Best way really.
Good Luck Cmdr's

Hello again cmdr,

If it 's any help I earned about 180 merits when we wung up earlier.

Did you not get about that?

Hi Pica, the reason I ask is I didn't see a noticeable difference when we were in wing earlier (apart from the fact that's it's much quicker) and was wondering if you share kills when in a wing - i.e you kill an enemy and I kill a different enemy but we both get merits for each!

BTW im in the same place tonight Pica if you fancy it again.

Hello Hoppingdeth,
Got a feeling that each member needs to inflict at least 5% damage to gain their merits. No idea how I know that so it may be wrong...

I'll be logged on and off for the next few hours. Same system, so if we meet then go for a wing again.

Hoping to try and hunt the enemy cmdrs undermining if I can.

Ok, fly safe out there!

In wings you each get merits for a kill but you must each hit the target at least once. So if you are undermining in a wing of 3, it's 30 merits each. This means the total undermining merits for one target is 90. As individuals you get 30 - AS LONG AS YOU EACH HIT THE TARGET AT LEAST ONCE :) Hope this clarifies.

I find it useful when you fly small ships, or target wings of heavy ships.

But when i undermine in my Clipper, I don't see the point to wait (= loss of time for everybody) for the wingmen to drop, while I could have blown up this Hauler and be already on the way to the next one.

Now, taking the merits sharing aside, working in a wing is fun...and so is flying a small ship.
