WING HYPERSPACE JUMPING

Each player in the wing targets the next system to jump to. That way all FSDs can charge at the same time.

Oh I see. I have to do it myself. I'd love to see an improvement, to let the game do this for me. :)

I like the idea of the wing lead having a way to adjust his jump range to match a lower range wingman; this just makes sense as a way to help keep the wing together. I tried a wing with a friend for a bit, and I too experienced the frustration of the 20KM drop from cruise during navlock. I understand that some amount of understanding makes a huge difference, but given how little the game does to convey this info in the moment, it's jarring and annoying for it to happen with no warning.

On the other hand, good job training your wingmates to form up like that. I'd do that, but most of my regular wingmates no longer play.

As for the 'drafting' idea? The only problem there is one of activity. Hyperspace is a loading screen, pure and simple. If you're not lined up perfectly with someone's wake, scientifically speaking, you couldn't really benefit. I don't see how the lead could purposely use up extra fuel to improve someone's range either; that sounds more like an arbitrary enhancement specifically for coop, and this game doesn't really need any more arbitrary design choices, IMHO. It needs things that make sense, things that work like advertised, and things that make us want to use them.
