Powerplay Faction: Arissa Lavigny-Duval Winters CMDRS in Hyades Sector IC-k B9-4

Finally bumped into some Winters cmdrs in Hyades Sector IC-k B9-4 last night, Stealth FDL and Anaconda. Unfortunately I ended up dead from the first encounter, but we added some friends to the wing and went back to try again. It almost ended in disaster as I got interdicted just as our Corvette pulled them from supercruise and they had 2v1 for a good minute or so, but we got there eventually and managed to get the Anaconda to leave while the FDL baited us from distance. It seemed like he was trying to keep us occupied while waiting for reinforcements so we withdrew to repair and rearm. On returning to the system they had either left or we couldn't get in the same instance so that was that for the night.

Thanks and well-flown to the Winters cmdrs and my wing-mates, hope to have more of that this week.

+1 rep for doing things the right way, and instead of cursing thier existence and running to solo, getting a wing together to have a good ol fight! Now that sounds like a good time!

To be fair, this isn't the type of PVP that the majority of people moan about. This is a good example of PVP how it should be - combat capable commanders from opposing factions coming to blows, retreating, getting reinforcements, making tactical decisions etc. Getting blown up in this type of scenario would be acceptable and this type of scenario does indeed sound like fun. The people that moan are generally those getting nuked by a wing, or any vastly superior opponent, when they are not combatants. It's one thing being shot when you are a soldier in a war zone - it's very different when you get shot going to the local shops for some milk [yesnod]

Exactly right in both regards, I feel we have to make sure that any changes to PvP that might happen do not adversely affect the consensual side of PvP, which is one of the most exciting things to do in ED, as there are a lot of voices focusing on the more abusive side in the recent discussions.
