Powerplay Faction: Felicia Winters Winters Cycle 336: The Dead Coals of War

Cycle summary:

It was a fun cycle, very reminiscent of the old days. We won our expansion at Siki, but a late bomb came in at Harima so we didn't get that one. Hudson won at DP Camelopardalis and V989 Cassiopeiae. We prepped four good systems for expansion, and Hudson prepped one that Grom is trying to weaponize into with an expansion of his own.

We stopped ALD at CD-62 234, with a lot of fun PvP on the final day. It was wonderful to see so many players from Lavigny's Legion there in Open, and this writer was even able to come away with a couple of kills. We came close to stopping Torval at Wulganda, but kudos to the members of this mysterious squadron, whom we haven't seen (figuratively, since nobody has ever seen them in Open, ever) since Torval took Trepin. They came out of nowhere to jump up to fourth place on the PowerPlay squadron leaderboards while hauling for ol' Granny! Torval would be quite a power indeed if these heroes actually hauled for her on a regular basis. Grom won all of his expansions, though it doesn't seem that the Eyes of Leshak had much to do with it. And Aisling took Asurasairu, a system that takes nearly 17,000 merits to fortify and which reduces their starting balance by 2CC. Initially we opposed this, believing it to be a fifth column attempt to hurt the princess, but it turned out they actually wanted it, so we respectfully allowed them to take it. They spent the equivalent of three fleet carriers in fast tracks for it, which if my math is right comes to about 7.5B credits per negative CC.

In other news:

The Colonia Bridge project is back at it again. The FSD rewards seem pretty interesting. If you want to try and get into the top 75% you probably don't want to wait on this one, it looks like it could finish early.

A new election season has begun at FLC. Every three months our members nominate their fellows for leadership positions, and then we vote on the candidates. Despite our in-game love for corporations (strictly enforced by FDev's creative decisions) we consider ourselves a bastion of democracy among Powerplay groups. Leaders in other groups envy the easy exits permitted by our three-month terms, and our engaged player base ensures that we always have excellent candidates to choose from.
