Roller Coasters [WIP] NCC 1071-b "Sagiptar" [WIP]

Hi everyone \o

Here is some work-in-progress on my new starship, the NCC 1071-b "Sagiptar".
It's quite bigger than the "Cyrene" (The one you find hidden in the middle of this asteroid mess, here)

Isn't she cute? :)

Wow, very impressive build. I actually thought of making a starship myself but you absolutely nailed it. You made the hull with the versatile shapes or did you use the metal walls? And I see a coastertrack so I'm curious what you gonna do with that. Keep it up bro

Wow! That's very cool.

Thanks guys! :)

A bit of both, actually :) I build the main structure with metal walls and vinyl plastic then slowly add the "external shell" with a bit of creative work on scenery items. The trick, for me at least, is to nail the details that give meaning to the rest. If I draw a line it'll look just like a line... but if you add a palm tree it immediately becomes a desert :)

Yup, that is the station for a coaster (Typhoon) The idea is to just make a bigger/better version of this
...but I'm SO running out of obj-budget [cry] Not sure how I'll manage everything :)

Some little update:
- The ship is basically complete... even tho it obviously could be improved further.
- The track is definitive. E 8.42 - F 5.16 - N 1.63 unrigged.
- I started the structure to guide queue and exit path

That is one epic spaceship. Too bad the coaster ruins the view. Not that the coaster is bad, I just prefer it without the coaster because its so good.

Spectacular spaceship
Thanks!! :)

I'm already planning to have this ship isolated and saved as stand-alone scenery blueprint :) This is what it looks like...

But how do the peeps get up there to board it?
-ding- the right question :) That's what I'm wondering too.

At the moment, as you can see, there is a missile-launch-like structure allowing two 4m-wide paths (queue and exit path) It protrudes from starboard (the right side of the ship) and at some point they turn and start climbing down, possibly reaching the ground at some point. Much like I did with my last deployable, the NCC 1071 CYRENE "Antares Anomaly" (See video or, even better, sub to it and examine it in-game)
This has a disadvantage, tho... because the ride is so tall, the path results in a REALLY long way before you can reach a height where no coaster tracks are, and this is not suitable for all park guests :( A number of them will find it too long, they will look at the queue and just refuse to enter.
And this is where the opinion of other valiant users is needed :)
This way, with the missile-pad solution, there is a long queue but the blueprint is ready to go as soon as you deploy it (assuming for all blueprints you still have to lay your own queue/path)... other solutions would imply more instructions on how to deploy the whole thing before it's ready to go... so... sorted by level of complexity, I'd say:

1) the blueprint might include the whole structure from top to ground, no matter how long the queue is. It comes complete with entrance and it deploys at the proper height level on the ground in a way that there still is some space between the ground level and the lowest part of the track.

2) only a portion of queue structure would be in the blueprint, short enough to have all guests willing to walk through it but... not going down to ground enough to reach below the lowest piece of coaster track. It would require an elevated place... or digging an appropriate hole in the ground to host the rest of the coaster... or perhaps users can connect it to a piece of path and other scenery that is already elevated in itself...

3) No structure is given. The blueprint is saved with a simple straight path-structure from the ship but then it's up the users to position and adjust the queue/exit paths in any way they like. Good also for those who want to place the ride underground for max "space darkness" results :) (modular themed pieces of path structure would be saved along the rest and positioned around... in case users want to actually build their own structure?...)

I dare say that the ride would benefit from a higher level of deployment complexity... as the less pieces I use for the entrance and exit... and the more I can use to decorate the ship and the space around it... [tongue]

Opinions?

Here's what I would do. I'd make the queue structure essentially just a horizontal bridge with the assumption the end of it would be essentially at ground level beside the ship.

This leaves the question explaining why ground level is halfway up the ship's sides. There are several options for that:

1. Park-Edge Cliff
Dig a big trench along a park boundary and put the ride in this trench. Problem is, this hides the ship from most of the park and really limits the view from the coaster.

2. Park-Center Launch Pit
Dig a big hole in the middle of the park and recess the ship into it. This pit would be lined with sci-fi wall panels and lights to make it look like some sort of launch bay. View from coaster would be OK but again, much of the ship would be hidden so wouldn't be the weenie it deserves to be.

3. Park-Center Spaceport (my favorite)
Build a fairly large hill in the center of the park and have paths going up it. The hill would be big enough to a couple of the smaller flat rides and also a selection of shops, so would essentially be just another park area. The whole hill would be covered in sci-fi buildings to make it look from a distance like 1 big building. The hill comes to a rather narrow summit, from which the bridge extends to the spaceship. Then the whole thing, hill and ship, serves as a weenie and those on the coaster can see the whole park below.

Ok, that's basically my option n.3
A straight path that protrudes from starport.

1. Park-Edge Cliff
What I illustrated in option 2. Yes, there would still be the problem of being not too visible from other parts, unless one is really making a "All around this crater" kind of park... [uhh]

2. Park-Center Launch Pit - 3. Park-Center Spaceport
❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎, you have real good ideas, my friend :) I love em both. Unfortunately, tho, for some reason, I decided to release deployables, which means that it must be all included, terrain is not saved in the blueprint and the instructions to deploy the coaster must be as simple as possible (like I did with the last deployable, the "Cyrene"...)
I would work with a MUCH higher level of details if I was building in a park with no obj budget [happy]
So... yeah. Blueprint-only options :)
Apparently, the most reasonable is to just give it that simple horizontal bridge out of the main deck... and then let the users arrange their own queue/exit path... maybe placing some modular piece of structure to play with... <_<

Instructions would be simple: QUEUE IS INTENDED TO BE HORIZONTAL TOUCHING THE TOP OF A HILL AT LEAST X METERS TALL. Then have some screenshots showing such a hill with all the trimmings, with a text box and arrows pointing to the hill and saying "Something like this".
