Wireframe Cobra

Was the wireframe Cobra skin only for kickstarter backers? It's so long ago I can't remember, joined around the end of Alpha, for some reason I don't have it. Just watched a video, it looks amazing on the Cobra. It makes the Python look like a skunk.

As far as I remember it could only be purchased by beta (or PB?) or earlier because it was sold for a week at the games 30th anniversary which was in september, so well within beta.

It was actually the first skin I bought. Until then I'd said "meh, why bother?" but I saw that one and as an '84 player they had me... My cobra still wears it or its counterpart from the Black Friday set - because black is the fastest color

@DNA-Decay: Don't think the major faction decals have ever been made available to earn or buy. I could be wrong but if I'd ever seen a way to get them my ships would be wearing the Alliance one too, possibly in place of the day-one skull.

It doesn't (I have it), so I guess it's a promo shot.

The Alliance Elite Diplomatic Corps have an Alliance triangle as their Rise To Power decal.
If you contributed to the AEDC CG back in July, you have access. The AEDC decal is the closest thing to a Major Faction decal that has been released in-game.

This is one of my favourite Cobra skins. I think it's the last one left of the original "Never Gonna See This One Again" skins that remained so (looking at you, Viper flags); more a commentary on FD marketing than a desire for exclusivity. IDC if others got another shot at this skin because it is very cool and iconic.

I've got it too. It's my Cobra main skin. Bought it to support Frontier at my tiny level mostly, so at the time, I didn't really mind the limited time edition tag. But I must say, today it feels special, and I now consider it an investment on other folks envy

Bingo.

The marketing was different from the usual time-limited offers in that this was exclusively for the 30th Anniversary; "30th Anniversary Cobra Mk.III Wireframe Paintjob".

I doubt FDEV could open it up for sale again - and I sincerely hope they don't, because I paid a tenner for this one skin at the time knowing that it was exclusively a one-off opportunity.

The only one I really like is the Cobra Mk.III wireframe, because I think it was done just right.

I bought the one for the Anaconda because I think it was done mostly right, but I'm not sure I like it as much, or the others - in my opinion, the thickness of some of the white lines is way too much. Make 'em thinner and the wireframe skins for the other ships would look better IMO.

I hope they maintain exclusivity on 'rare' paintjobs, too - and I wish I'd bought a Cobra wireframe.

I'd love a time-limited paintjob on a more regular basis, not just Christmas or Black Friday: I reckon they should release a "guest paint pack" each month, maybe even sponsored by a third party? I'd love an Eddie Stobart paintjob on my T-7, or a Ferrari skin for my FdL... or maybe even a Monster or RedBull skin for my AspX... but would big companies pay for the development of such a skin? Probably not.

Any chance or rolling out country flags for other / all ships? I'm only asking because I really want a union flag for my Python...
