Hardware & Technical Wireless Access Point - 1GbE nic

Folks,

I see a lot of WAPs on the market at the moment advertising 300 / 450 Mbps speeds - yet only have a 10/100 nic !!! So unless you're peering between devices on the wireless network, you're never going to get more than 100 Mbps.

Can anyone recommend a good, well priced wireless access point with a 1 GbE nic?

I'm using the Asus RT-AC66U but there are similar models with slower/faster wireless speeds and price to match. Having said that, I never tested max transfer rates over this... where's my laptop? I'll do a quick one now that it has been mentioned...

Edit: laptop connected at 433 Mbps according to router, transfers from windows desktop to laptop (SSD on both ends) tops out about 160 Mbps according to task manager. Laptop is under 1m from access point so signal strength isn't a problem. Don't know why it isn't higher in practice. Not a problem for me since most of my transfers are internet only, at only 50 Mbps.
