Wish it was easier too...

I recently finally upgraded to a Vulture, and I am starting the fitting process. I really wish there were more resources in-game to tell you what equipment nearby shipyards carry. Its a real pain in the butt to fly around trying to find A rated this or A rated that. I know there are a couple of fansite's that are very helpful (i use INARA), but I wish there were more in-game resources to tell you what is available nearby, and what the prices are.

I mean, I would assume that near-by companies would want to advertise to commanders in the area what equipment they have for sale, rather than just hope that they randomly come by their shipyard.

To be fair, Inara, Coriolis, EDDB & that pristine metallic finder are all really mobile friendly.

I could easily just alt + tab, being on PC, but I still find myself using my phone for tools just like I did on Xbox.

I tend not to mind this. I'll check the outfitters at any station I'm at, but I'm never particularly bothered if they don't have what I want. Moving around is the key.
As for helper apps I use a variety of them. Like the others I have my laptop next to me whenever I play. Not least because I can easily press f5 to refresh the forum thread list and see stuff like this. :) It is a little bit of a pain that this stuff isn't in-game (yet!), but consider just how very much is in there and I find I can let FDev off!

The original game Elite, I played it on the ZX Spectrum in the 80's ( 48KB of memory ) Then came Elite Frontiers in the 90's, I had an Amiga 500 then.
Oh the nostalgia[arrrr]

In all seriousness, I need to get the original game.
