I would like to see more strategy.
war zones: capture key points, get one ship to safety or destroy some ships, which should have a big impact on the development of the war zone. A reason for players to use combat formations, made up of different ships. Why not having the war zone in an asteroid field or a place with low visibility? That would most definitely add more strategic thinking.
Great improvement of combat zone with the 1.1!
bounty: it's lame right now. the fun thing about it is viper vs anaconda. but it should be more like a hitman, waiting, hunting, or like a puzzle, where you put something together, find the target, destroy the target.
specifics: "we know he'll have a meeting at a time and place. the meeting will last 5 minutes" You could have a drone module, a small drone with limited range and no shields, easy to destroy if crushed. You have to fly it to the target, create a disturbance in the shields and attach it to a module. Easier to do if the target has no shields. Ships can pay for a "bug sweep" inside a big port. Scoop your drone with the cargo scoop, if you're using it just for collecting information (like what trade route this ship is doing, or where it has been etc.) or if it doesn't get destroyed in the confrontation (if you're using it for ambush and kill).
trading/mining: strategic resources. only certain ranks permit such trade, and it should be dangerous, as other want to stop your production, and if you find it and mine it, should be the path to richness. The system information should be sold only to some special "Companies" where you could become shareholder, if you don't like the mining.
mission diversity: where speed and maneuverability has the saying. like a chase through an asteroid field. The motto seems right now to be "bigger and stronger" but if all players fly pythons and anacondas the game would be extremely boring. Why not small and efficient? I think it should be complementary. Big ships need small ships and vice versa to achieve full efficiency.
I would also implement a Hall of Fame. It's rather easy to do it and it would be another kind or reward, not just money. Each faction should have one and it would be nice if it were exclusive. There would be a panel on the station where you can check it. A hero could for example boost morale for the other ships. So if you have a "competent" npc it would become "expert" while the hero is around. You can be on the hall of fame but it does not mean you're a hero.
If you're on the hall on fame you could have your paint job repaired for free, or some free cosmetics for your ship. Why not something for the inside?
