What and why are those things always screaming when in witch space?

The passengers who went out for a smoke and didn't get back in before you hit FSD, I'm guessing.
If you listen REALLY closely they're screaming "SLOW DOOOWN! AAAAAHHHH!"Witches.

But seriously, I've never heard anything "screaming" during jumps. Not during the ten thousands of jumps I've done so far. Not once.
I >do< remember when the Sound team updated it the last time and gave it a lion growl with too little distortion/filters. lol, that felt like jumping through a darn zoo until they fixed it again a short while later
(unsure, but that was also during the time when Fuel Scoops suddenly sounded like a duck when scooping was complete.... quack quack quack, every time you finished scooping ... got fixed quickly as well thou)

First time I went there, I was so scared when they intercepted me. But I realized and told myself that they were just farting. They wanted to take me out of FSD just to tell me that they can fart the loudest in the galaxy, before going on their way. The whole thing is a war of the farts. They are a proud race and won't let any to challenge their farts. Or maybe it was just a prank; shut down my ship, fart on me, and leave. *shrug
Maybe it’s the coordinates for Raxxla.

I hear them, but I don’t hear screams. I have my sound up really loud with the bass ramped up. I use the ‘boost’ audio mode. It’s like chattering but muffled into a microphone...
Reminds me of a sentence from a review of Quake back in those 90’s 3D terror filled NIN days... Not sure if I remember it correctly, but it was something like: ‘like the sound of a thousand squelching bums on plastic seats....’ It was magazine printed, but the review was never published online.
I really like ELITE’s sound design, everything you can possibly do in game sounds sublime!
