What are "like" stars?
Also, played last night (or night before?) and didn't see anything.. maybe I'm like Vasco.. just tune it out now. xD
Swear they have always been there. I remember naively thinking "Oh cool it actually takes into account the systems you pass!" before realising its just a fancy load screen
Its specifically not the systems you pass in the lore. Witchspace is weird, you are not physically moving from A to C passing B.

The Central star you circled was added 2 major point updates ago I think? (2.2? or was it 2.3) It shows the star you're jumping to as you get closer.

For all we know, going A-B through Witchspace could take us A-M-Z-S-T-GZ-AF-B
Or essentially passing every point in the universe simultaneously.
FDev fooling around with the plasma bolt and space dust shaders (patch notes) might have something to do with it.
Are you sure those are Stars passing by? Could be... you know, our insectioid overlords
