With a 5820k@4.2GHz & GTX 970@1536MHz I can run it em 4K but the galaxy map too slow

Hi folks,

I have a Haswell-E 5820K overclocked to 4.2GHz running into a X99 MB with 16GB DDR4 at 2600 MHz and Gigabyte G1 GTX 970 overclocked to 1536 MHz and with that machine I can play ED at 4K@50~60FPS (totally playable) but when I enter into the galaxy map, it's running very slowly (20FPS) and the star names get blinking ever where. This is very annoying and it forces me to go back to quadHD (1440p).

There is a performance bug in the galaxy map? Tell me yours experiences.

My game work in maximun graphics settings, you have other problem, (see drivers update):

my spec:

intel i5 2.400, 3.10 Gz
GTX 560 1 mb
RAN: 16 mb

He's talking about the galaxy map, which runs very slowly on extreme resolutions.

Yes, I'am talking about 4k resolution int top of the edge rig.

And I tried turning down galaxy map quality on options but don't workout.

I think it is the fact that the galaxy map is much more CPU bound the any other think in the game (and even with a haswell-e machine it is too slow).

I've had exactly the same experience with a single 980 running at 4K so it's not just you. Turning down the quality setting on the Galaxy map helps a little but not much. Others have reported that this problem goes away with two 980s running in SLI but I haven't confirmed that myself...yet. :)

It a shame that my rig can handle the game in 4K even with just one GTX 970 but I can leave in this resolution because the Galaxy Map.

Please Frontier, optimize Galaxy Map. :D
