With all the negative respons...

I see so Much negative respons and whining. People wanted stuff to do so FD Adds community goals, which i like. But People never get satisifed.

So my question is: what do you whiners want? Give me some real suggestions cause i fail to understand your never ending whining.

would just be Nice to know what People expect when ya'll say you want: real in game content. (ya'll just say planetary landings right)

I want you whiners to stop whining about what other people's opinions are.

i think some folks just arnt happy, unless they have something to whine about. while many of us play games to suspend reality for a while, some whine about the games they play, to suspend reality for a while, and as a focus for thier general discontent at life.

*and then there be the hairy footed ones that live beneath bridges, sowing the seeds of discontent for the sheer pleasure of it.

Or maybe we just want to see ED live up to its vast potential rather than just being a lifeless grindfest.

Been done to death, FD knows by now, if they deliver we shall see. A community grind is not very interesting.

I could say at the other end of the spectrum you have the forum dwellers that would be happy if FD served them a glass of urine and called it beer.

I don't think that's the truth of it, but it reinforces one's opinion much more effectively if you can find a way to disregard anyone that doesn't share yours, doesn't it.

OP: Some players look at an object and accept i for what it is, flaws and all, others can look at an object and see how it can be improved, for the betterment of the object it's userrs. With ED, there are many things that can be improved, and so you hear about it often. It's a good idea to not read threads containing criticism if it's not to your liking.

ok...here goes

The thing that has upset me is the fact that I spent 3 weeks getting money by hauling, then getting my dream ship Viper....then another 3 weeks of hauling and bounty work to get enough money to outfit my ship to A grade. My path was clear and upgrade planned. Only to find out that 1.1 upgrade changed the max power for an A3 power unit so my ship does not function (I scanned a ship and half my modules went off line!!!

Now I can't upgrade because A3 unit is limited to 12Mw I cant get the A FSD to extend my jump range or add A sensors. I have had to lower my spec to just fly! You can't limit the power limit so you cant have a "A" ship that does not works! My journey has been stopped...where do I go from here?

Careful scorpionarachnid. Someone is going to say you just need to learn to manage your power. I mean, you only have to push approximately 8 buttons for each module and do that every time you turn around, but why are you complaining.
While I am at it, does anyone know of a way (besides voice commands or external macros) to request docking without pushing buttons 8 times (yes, count them) each time one docks? I admit I could be doing it wrong, so guide me if I am. Thank you in advance.

A few B things work too. A grade ships tend to be tight fits, and the viper has always been tight. And yes you need to learn to manage your power.

People expect something substantial its not complicated, look at the community goal at yembo its almost an insult to our intelligence it is literally the simplest possible method of implementation and even then It wasn't thought out to any degree you'd be better asking what went right rather than what went wrong.

To be honest the only reason it was fun is it jammed so many players into one system that we all had something dynamic to do, (deal with other players not the community goal :p)

Just to summarise they convinced traders to run hundreds of runs to the same station, making less profit than anybody with a two way would actually make, with a competition automatically skewed towards bigger is better, with a miniscule reward, an enormous contribution requirement and a global reward that appears to make no sense (5% off fuel.. what?) all so that a station could "magically" appear instantly in a system, instead of being built like i'm pretty sure it was advertised.

Like honestly if yembo never happened, nobody would have noticed the difference, the only success in the whole thing was the traders who got excitement out of being pirated, the pirates that got to be lazy finding targets and the bounty hunters who knew where to find people for once. All 3 of these had nothing to do with the goal other than being herded to a particular system.

perhaps they want some specialization in ship loadouts. Maxing everything just isn't viable and that's good (tm).

The whiners want everything to be cost-and-risk free. They want to be OP and everyone else to not be. They want a single player game but the popularity of a massively multiplayer one to keep new content coming. They want player interaction but only how it suits them and only if they benefit from it. They want every single effort expended in the game to yield profit and they want everything that costs more and is bigger to be across the board better than anything that costs less. They want tedious but basically safe tasks to always net them gobs of credits and reputation and they want the tools and API to make this even easier for them to do so they have tons of money so they can be the first person with any new content when that's released. They want anything that inhibits anything of the above to be nerfed and anything that makes what they're doing difficult by not being OP enough to be buffed until it is.

Did i miss anything?

You make choices. I have a 2xbeams, 2xMC, class A powerplant, thruster, distributor, engines, shield and cell bank Viper. It also has a PTD and a low quality KWS. It doesn't have a A-rating FSD, as that wouldn't work with my shield cell bank. This means Viper pilots now make their own ship, instead of just going for *max everything*, which is boring. And if you really think the jump range is a porblem, get out of that Viper and get a different ship. A fully specced Cobra is only marginally worse at combat but has way better jump range and much more internals.

You missed pretty much everything, while you represented well the fact that everyone wants different things however a majority of the forum complaints aren't even about specific things to buff/nerf they just want a balanced well thought out approach instead of simplistic pandering.

Just because lots of people complain doesn't make them wrong many of the arguments on these forums are extremely well thought out and well considered with great discussion on both sides, however both sides continue to complain because nothing happens there are lots of relatively minor things brought up every day that you'd think would take seconds to address, fix, redress, remove, add etc that are seemingly completely ignored.

OP that is a hell of a can of worms you're opening there... although I agree with you. Most will come on here and tell you what is wrong with this game. Most of the time they have no alternative suggestion. Just rude, sometimes downright nasty rants about FD. Asking for suggestions of what THEY want will inevitably give you some sort of idea that they want this game to be E.v.E Online but with the really cool flight model of Elite. Or that they want Star Citizen but with the really cool huge open galaxy of Elite. BUT they want such huge game altering mechanics or handcrafted missions right NOW and yet EvE has had years and years to perfect its gameplay and Star Citizen is taking 4 years to bring its dense handcrafted missions to bare fruit (even though its in a tiny (by comparison) galaxy).
.
At the end of the day some people just can't accept Elite for being, well Elite. Admittedly the missions could be deeper and bit more complex, but lets get the current missions working properly first eh. ;) As time goes on hopefully the PvE will get more interesting and more detailed too. Yes there's improvements to be made, but the incessant whinging and downright insulting nature of most threads and their sarcastic and frankly childish inhabitants are leaving a real stain on this community. They will probably ironically be the ones that kill ED not Frontier by scaring off or putting off potential players who come and check out the forums before buying. :(
.
I'm gonna stick with it I have faith in ED I think in time it will be even better than it is now. If I get bored with it, you know what, I'll go play some other games for a bit, but I'll always come back to ED to check it out. Those other games will have been done and gone by then. :)

Or maybe we just want to see ED live up to its vast potential rather than just being a lifeless grindfest.

Its called developement for a reason, and it is an ongoing process, they may not get things right the 1st time round, or even the 2nd or the 3rd, and they will never please everyone, nor should they try too. But there is a world of difference between discussion/suggestion and complaining/demanding -

Discussion and Suggestion is being part of the developement process, understanding that the game hasnt been made for any single person, is a fine balance between what is wanted and what is needed and has far more complexity to it than the game we see and experiance.

Complaining and Demanding is just whining, tends to be self serving and a prime example of low self control and/or a bunch of other negative human traits.

Sorry if i my comment came accross as a gross generalisation, i sometimes forget that my interpretation of something isn't always going to be how someone else reads it. The game, any game, definately benefits from positive feedback, and by positive i mean the way in which it is conveyed, the good the bad and the ugly are all relative for the developement of a game. My comment about whiners, while a little tongue in cheek, was very literal, and a very real example of how some folk are, and usually a very small minority.

I've seen the Community Goals as a great addition. They guide some Traders to key locations - allowing Pirates, Bounty Hunters, Mercenaries and CMDR-Killers to congregate easily too - to play and enjoy the game how they see fit. Exactly what many of the community wanted - in-game player-driven content. Sure it's initiated by FDev, but all the fun activities that transpire come from the players.
