So a while ago I sent this email to frontier:
"Beta Now includes a lifetime 25% discount on ship insurance PLUS free access to one of 5 new ship designs post game release."
How exactly will getting one of the 5 new ships work? Do we redeem some sort of token or will the game simply offer us all five and we pick one?
and they replied with:
"When the ships are released we will make one (of our choosing) available to you, in a similar way we did with the Eagle as part of the Mercenary Edition."
I understand this would be the easiest and quickest method of distributing the ships but can I offer a suggestion. For the game Planetside 2, when you log in for the first time, you are presented with a survey. It asks you things such as "I prefer weapons with Range" I prefer weapons with high damage" or "I prefer a high rate of fire" and will give you weapons and attachments suited to what you said you liked in the survey. May I suggest something similar be done for Elite? Basically when you log in and land in a station a survey pops up and presents questions like "Do you like to trade" or "Do you prefer combat" or "Do you like to pillage systems". Then after answering the questions you are presented with the ship most tailored to your style of play. Because I am a bounty hunter and personally have no use for say a panther clipper which is a massive lumbering trade ship. This just helps players get a ship they can actually put to good use.
