General / Off-Topic With Star Wars Set To Take Over Yet Again...

I would love to read their take on the new franchise movies just being the usual lazy Hollywood rehash of the original movies. They’re not even hiding the fact the plot lines are the same such is their contempt for audiences and their surety that such is the demand for new Star Wars films the fans will gladly lap up any old dog food convinced its prime cut steak.

Is The Last Jedi another rehash?

Well done the author for getting an article out of that observation.
I wonder how many times he’s seen the movie. I saw the first one when it came out and thought it was quite good.
Is there much in the news about it? The time lag out here is quite bad. :)

I’m not going to do spoilers, go watch and make up your own mind.

I will say on it’s own it’s a fairly good sci fi movie but if, as a Star Wars fan, you had hoped this new franchise was going to take the series into new realms with original and intuitive plot lines your only going to get more and more disappointed.

A case in point being the heir to the empire series by Timothy zahn, those books took on the franchise and expanded it fantastically, they built on the lore, took the characters and expanded on their stories, those books have now been written out by this new franchise and replaced by a series that has jar jar binks in it, as well as an orphaned kid stuck on a planet and good with a droid, ring any bells? The same plot lines but with new actors inter mixed with snazzy battles and upgraded graphics is the stable diet of the inept lazy writers and execs over in Hollywood, never let originality get in the way of a box office hit. Look at the Spider-Man and bat man franchises and how they rehashed them to death for decades.
