With The Right Lever, You Can Move The World.

When I got my HTC Vive, the wife gave me the look. If you are married, you know the one I mean. However, she never objected to me actually getting one. When I mentioned there was another VR headset out, she gave me the look again and just said, "No, we don't need two."

Today, I got a long email from my wife (self identified crazy-cat lady) with the title of "I want to play Kittypocalypse in VR!!!!"

The link is here: http://www.kittypocalypse.com/

I wrote back and told her while it is VR, it only mentions the Rift and it may not be compatible with our HTC Vive.

Without hesitation, she writes back with, "Maybe we should get a Rift as well, then."

Motivation. You just have to find the right motivation. :D

I had the same problem, even though its not really a problem.

When I explained I was about to drop $1100 on a CV1, new MOBO, CPU and RAM I got the look.

Then I explained VR and the ability to get IN the game or video.... I tried to lure her in with a Harry Potter reference and the ability to walk around in that world and experience it.
She knew I was grasping at straws .

But some time in the demo convinced her. Now I just need to find a good VR game for her.

It's all in how you phrase the question.

My wife saw me with the Vive on for the first time about a month+ ago. I heard a sarcastic mocking sound (she hates video gaming) followed by "stupid".

I put her into VR. She loves it now. She actually doesn't mind my gaming so much anymore. She had me show her friend. She raved about it to her circle of friends.

Thank you VR. Thank you. LOL

fyi - She's a music professor so I showed her a few of the free music VR videos out there. Maybe I should get Audioshield for her. I'm always keeping an eye out for titles that may interest her. The more I drag her into it, the more likely I'll get an OK when Gen2 VR devices become available. Teehee.

Easy chaps. Be careful showing the 'wife' too much VR. What happens when she loves it, and you get relegated to watching TV while she steals your PC?
A couple of years ago, I showed my wife GTA3. She wanted to try and I ended up without my PC for a month.

Be warned!

Classic, yes, I know that look. Too often probably.

Howled. Repped.

That's when you get a second PC! And if you share an interest in a particular game, you can play together.
