Yesterday I decided to uninstall GeForce and all its associated background stuff to trim any unnecessary fat off of my PC. I then installed just the Nvidia Driver with the necessaries (NOT Nvidia 3D Vision).
When I opened Steam VR, to my surprise, the little 'Paper 2D floppy' figure guided me to set up floor level (this hadn't happened previously as it seemed to take the measurements from the WMR Portal).
In ED, I noticed a significant improvement in scale and smoothness. Everything looked proportionally the correct size.
When looking at the Graphics settings, I noticed that it was no longer in VR Mode. I switched to VR Mode and saw that the scale didn't seem to reflect the size of more distant objects. What I mean is, Station walls not seeming that far away/ Planets not seeming that big. I think it's to do with how far away parallax begins. The effect is very noticeable in the SRV tutorial.
I now have graphics set on Medium/non VR (Mid/Low tier PC), and am having a much more immersive experience.
No idea if this works for anyone else, but maybe try it out for yourselves.
Cheers.
