[Edited] First impressions were unreliable. A fresh set of eyes sorted it out. See below.

I noticed in the Steam VR Pop up Menu, under settings there is a choice for Windows Mixed Reality. I selected it.

Today I found the experience more convincing. I'm using a 970, i5 4460 and 8GB KHX DDR3, so I expected lower results anyway. I did put it on VR Ultra and surprisingly got a not to bad result, soon enough the HUD started 'vibrating' (lag I guess) so I turned back to VR High.

Maybe yesterday's results were down to fatigue as I spent the weekend going round in circles trying to figure out how to get it working with ED. Thanks to Retrograde on another thread ,https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...R-or-Desktop?p=6738237&viewfull=1#post6738237, I found out what I was missing.

Now I'm trying to get a comfortable wear of the head set. I think this is a trial and error thing, and with time it will become second nature finding the sweet spot.

So, my impressions now are, well, impressed. The SRV has taken on a new life. Combat is awesome; -following the enemy with your head and getting the ship to follow, micro adjustments to the throttle to get a good trajectory. Even the thrusters make more sense now, especially getting on an opponents six whilst pitching. Flying round the rings of a Coriolis Station just for fun. Later I'm going to try some combat in an asteroid field to see how well I can use thrusters in Silent Running to hug asteroids whilst navigating them to make a surprise attack from the shadows.
