Horizons Woah, gimme a chance!

Took a sightseeing mission. Perhaps should have read the description a bit better as he turned out to be secretive, but still.

Diverted to a nearby system to buy my passenger some wine. All going well and he's happy. Undocked and got scanned before I was even fully out of the slot. Three messages came in within seconds of each other:

1. Commander you've been scanned.
2. Take me to the nearest starport (mission failed)
3. You can't even take me to a starport, I'm off to find a more competent pilot (passenger ejects).

Seriously, it was all over before the scan was even finished.

I mean, what is the point?

OK, vented. Feel better now.

You mustn't get scanned. That's a key point of the mission. When doing these missions, you need to leave the station at full speed and keep boosting until you're clear. See this vid that shows you how. This one is for "wanted" but the technique is the same. You need to use it for entering and leaving the station when doing that mission. Also, you need to turn off "report crimes against me" so that the feds don't turn up when you're interdicted:

Yeah, like I said, I didn't read the description properly and was just having a bit of a rant. I still think it's poor design though. Firstly, until the scan has finished, they don't know who's on board. In the same way that you can avoid a bounty for illegal cargo by boosting away once the scan has started, you should actually be able to make your passenger happy by doing the same. As I'd failed to notice he was secretive that's a moot point in this particular case.

Secondly, if they're going to bother with a message asking to be taken to the nearest station, you at least need a chance to do so. They certainly wouldn't want you to turn around and dock at the station you'd just left once they'd been spotted. Not that I even had time to do that.

On previous secretive passenger missions I've taken, getting scanned has merely downgraded the passenger's mood from happy to content, or content to unhappy, so this one took me by surprise, to say the least.
