Woah Repair Costs Go Up?

Anyone else notice that repair costs have suddenly skyrocketed with the newest update..? The update stated they fixed hull integrity costs.. so why have hull repair costs changed, and hull integrity costs appear to be the exact same as they were before..? Is this a bug, and if so, has it been reported/acknowledged yet?

Edit- Not saying they were or weren't where they needed to be before, but this wasn't mentioned in the update log is all.
ReEdit - This is STANDARD repair costs, not INTEGRITY repair costs (aka wear and tear); Integrity was reported as fixed in this update, but still costs the same as it did before 1.3.04. This problem is related to standard costs now being incredibly higher than they were before this update.

Fixed = a misnomer for (insert random word of choice here)

Quite a funny discussion.

If that's true, expect combat to be severely reduced in all but basic ships: it's tough enough fighting government sanctioned battles out-of-pocket.

I think in the patch notes for 1.3.04 Michael has said that a hotfix will be coming soon for this. Just don't sustain any damage for a little bit.:)
Edit: Wait - that applies only to ship integrity repair costs - sorry. My bad - just skim read earlier.

Ridiculously, my DBX got damaged with 88% hull left, went to repair at a huge population high tech station, and the cost was 12 thousand credits. I looked on the repairs tab and no important modules were damaged enough to cost that much.

Yep, the hotfix hotfixed the hull integrity crazy prices, but made a total mess with repair prices. There is another thread about it.

Heard someone say they'd made 16 million in a couple of hours in RES and that it had been improved in today's patch, but damned if I can find any of these RES...just the same old annoying small fry

Alright thanks. I run a FDL for nearly full combat purposes.. so taking damage comes with the territory. Unfortunately with this bug, it costs me 500k for less than 10-20% hull damage. On the other thread it looks like someone said that external modules are causing the jacked up prices now. So check your booster/utility modules for damage before repairing. Apparently you can just sell them in outfitting and rebuy. Reduces your repair cost for regular hull plating and internals back to normal.

Seems a lot more realistic and in proportion to the ship value. Got my Cobra hull taken down to 70~% when killing an Anaconda on an asassination mission, and had to pay ~40k. Ship cost is something like 300k, so the repair cost seems fair. Then in further fighting I kept the shields up when taking down a series of pirates and suffered no repairable damage, teaching me to be a bit more cautious in my combat approach. I've not done the total sums, but it feels like mission rewards plus wanted bounties minus reloading and repairs is a reasonable balance to make some credits and earn some ranking points. CZs are now a lot more interesting than just sitting there popping 40 or 50 NPCs in an evening with near-zero risk/damage, until the missiles and cannons run out.

Yeah, ouch I just got a 38,000 repair bill on an asp for some heat damage, hull was 100% but various modules were 98% - 99% :( - I might add add that this was entirely damage from fuel scooping

At this point I honestly think they should just disable the entire wear&tear system, reset everyone's ships to 100%, and have a good look at the system, because something must be seriously wrong there, probably much more than just some numbers to be tweaked.

Edit: Oops. Seems now they have also messed up repair from combat and heat damage, not just w&t?:(

Can't quite see the "ouch" there. It's 0.5% of the ship purchase price of 6m, and with 17m credits in your account can you really not afford 38k? You'll make it back on the next full cargo hold trade run, on half a dozen exploration scans, or a quick bounty mission. You could probably have made 38k in the game in the time it took you to screenshot it, log in to this forum and write your post.

Yeah, so we are back to square one? Trade, trade, trade in order to afford doing combat?

You may be fine with it in a cobra, but it really hits hard for players in larger and more expensive ships. 1% for an Anaconda is now over 1 million credits. Most players can't afford to be spending that kind of money just to fly their ship around. It makes it so every player is practically required to fly a small ship if they want to make or maintain any credits. That's not fair play. I work to make millions of credits to buy and outfit an incredibly expensive ship, but I can't fly it because scratching it breaks the bank? Nope. With that logic, might as well remove the Anaconda from the game. In most cases, its cheaper to ram your ship into a space station and go through insurance than it is to just repair it. How does that make sense?

This increase is rather extreme, When you end up paying large amounts to repair the unavoidable damage taken through interdicting it really makes me think twice about taking my Clipper bounty hunting. It's also an issue that after a great fight against a high rated anaconda my repair bills were higher than the bounty I received, kind of puts a downer on an otherwise great battle.

This has to be a bug...my friends have switched off elite for a while hoping they will patch it and we wont have to pay repairs...I just hope they're not trying to make it impossible to fly expensive ships so that we all end up in those piddly 3 new ships they brought in; allow new buyers a level playing field etc etc etc...so tired of this
