Woohoo! I see private backer and DDF forums!

I see Private backers, but not DDF. Probably because I Jontied up to that post-close of Kickstarter I guess.

/impatient ;)

I'm formulating a dastardly plan to get into the DDF - already ruled out robing a bank but I'll find my way in soon enough (evil laugh) :D

Can you advise where these forums are nested please? Maybe I'm not yet granted access, but I could just be missing something. Ta.

As long as your registered backers forum name matches your regular forum name (case sensitive), then you should be able to see it, but you have to sign in first, or the link to the private backers section won't appear.

Failing that, use the email link that is in the backers notification email that was sent to you yesterday & tell them of your plight. Good luck.

Hi folks, I'm new! I think I was about the 650th backer after I heard about the kickstarter on BBC news :)

Anyway, I've had an email saying 'Forum Registration Failed' from edbackers and I think it was because I went into the backers site and filled everything out there before I registered myself here.

So I'm now registered here and I've resubmitted my forum username in the backers site, although I don't see any private forums yet, I guess it requires some time to update?

Cheers folks
Dave

This thread brings to mind a question.

Do you think members of the Private Backers Forum should be permitted to read but not post in the DDF?

from what i know there isn't an embargo of discussing DDF subjects and this would allow those not able to afford the DDF to discuss among ourselves in the PBF what ever the topic of the week was.

not saying the discussion should be given weight but it could spark a good idea or two that could be championed by DDF member's should they feel it merits consideration. it would also widen the base of input without detracting from the responsibilities and duties of the DDF membership or flooding it out with additional posts.

Admin wise all it would need would be to add DDF viewing to the PBF user permissions so we are not talking hours of work to do here, more like minutes. (please correct me if i'm wrong.). what does everyone think?

It's a definite no from me. The DDF forum isn't quite what I expected for my pledge, given I was specifically pledging for that. I'm sure it'll come good, but I'm already slightly dismayed at content from it being copied and posted onto other forums. For me, opening it up further would further devalue it, and that's not what was described in the pledge tier which cost a decent amount of money to be honest.

If people want to repost stuff out of it, that's their lookout, but I don't see why people who didn't pledge to that tier level should have read access.

Well I used the same email address but a slight variation of my name ( my original choice was taken when I signed up on the forum) than the one I want as a Commander name which is still in a state of being checked, surely this won't make a difference if the email address is the same ? :S

Slightly confused.

I only have the private backer's forum and not the DDF (except I don't actually have access yet), but tbh, given the difference in cost between them, I'd be very surprised if they did this. The idea was that it would cost hundreds of quid (too much if you ask me) to get access to what is effectively like a VIP area.
