General / Off-Topic Working at Frontier

(I blame Brett C for this completely and his Signature!)

You know when your just scrolling through the forums minding your own business when you click on a certain community managers signature and are directed to the careers page at frontier...
Yea that happened and I saw the big shiny list of really amazing job opportunities, knowing that after leaving the military I would love a job with such an awesome group of people (i'm sure) and then dropping back down to reality like a brick when I realise that I live in Newcastle :(

P.S I would 100% move if my girlfriend wasn't still in uni! Are they looking for Architects in Cambridge??

Hate to tell you this but they often have BBQs in the summer as well...

Not that the Mods get invited you know, oh no not us.....humph.....

Working on ED would probably be my dream job (I suspect that the pay would not be that great but who cares). Persuading the wife to move to Cambridge would be a challenge.

Same here, would be my dream job. After I left uni I did a bit of work as a freelance 3d artist (mostly using Maya). Couldn't make enough money for it to be a realistic career though, ended up in retail middle management but would love to go back to 3d modelling :)

Would be awesome to work for Frontier, do they need a tea boy?

2 sugars in mine... :D

But everyone who I've met/talked to at Frontier love working for David and Frontier.

That for me translates to the games they make as well.

Speaks volumes for me.

Still waiting fo the invite to the next BBQ btw.... :p

Could you imagine them organising a community BBQ for any/all who can make it! Haha that would be amazing, strictly no talking shop though so we don't bug the life out of them haha.

I had an interview at fdev.. must be.. 15 years ago.. for a tech anim position on dogs life.. they seemed like good people.. my favorite bit was dave B made me a cup of tea and we chatted about elite in the kitchen.
we agreed I wasn't right for the job.. but I really just wanted to meet dave B. funnily enough the place I did end going to .. the art director was john laws.. who I have to say is a thoroughly nice chap and a brilliant games concept artist.
hes currently head of art at fdev I think.. but hes not returning my emails ;( I guess I left an impression.
possibly it was me nagging for the art book ;)
